Heanta

Character information

Solomon Moonfall (The Moonlit Magus) Moonfa10

Name: Solomon Moonfall
Age: Late Twenties
True Age: 135
Sex: Male
Personality: Solomon is, at his core, a Heanta who endeavors to remain calm, level-headed, and fair, no matter the situation. He looks down on those who loose themselves to base instincts, which puts him at odds with most Heanta. This doesn't mean that Solomon doesn't care about others, he simply is not good at showing it. However, Solomon is also ruthless to those who threaten him, his clan, and any allied to his clan. He doesn't do it out of malice, or anger, he simply knows better than to show weakness in Heanta society. This also wraps up in another part of his personality. He truly doesn't care what the other Heanta think of him. This is most evident when other Heanta, due to the strange coloring of his skin, and eyes, call him half Eldari. Some have even attacked Solomon over this, but the retribution from attacking him was fast and merciless, as Solomon, again, takes threats to himself seriously. Despite this, all Solomon wishes to do is research magic further than he already has.

Solomon also has a very strange relationship with his sister, Umbra. She seemingly loves to annoy him, and Solomon trying to stay away from her, so he can continue to work on his magic. However, this isn't to say he doesn't care about her, as Solomon demonstrated when Umbra was kidnapped. In his absolute fury, Solomon personally slayed two of the sons of Clan Strixa. Solomon sent a message that day that his family was not to be touched.

Being raised as the next head of the Moonfall clan, Solomon has met most of the big players of the other clans. Solomon's father has explained to Solomon that they are allies of the Hornless Clan, and he should treat them as such. In Solomon's eyes, he originally didn't care who ran the Heanta. However, in talks with Calaena, Solomon came to respect the leader of Clan Hornless. So, while appearing to still not care, secretly, Solomon has sided with the Hornless, if they decided to go to war over something.

Solomon, while in a fight, also tends to stay calm, and focused on the task at hand. He is merciless in a fight, not playing with his opponents as many other Heanta do. He prefers a direct approach, and this is perfectly paired with his Runic Projection Magic, something he came up with himself. Unlike most other mages, Solomon's magic makes it possible for him to fight up close, and personal. He frequently uses it to surprise opponents.

Perhaps Solomon's greatest trait is his intelligence. One of the best examples of this is in Solomon's personal magic, Runic Projection Magic. In a rare moment of being away from Kyrias, Solomon met with the enigmatic Magus of Flowers, Merlin, before he lost a great portion of his power. In talking with the young mage, Merlin was impressed at the younger mages views on magical theory, and praised his Runic Magic, confirming Solomon's belief that the magic was, indeed, something even the great Merlin had never seen before. Solomon also conceded that Merlin was every bit as intelligent, and powerful as the stories, and decided that day on his goal. To become as powerful as Merlin was at that moment, and surpass Merlin as the foremost mage of the land of Ka'Lesa.
Likes/Dislikes:
Likes: Crafting/discussing magical theories, being left alone, meeting someone of an equal mind to his, having a quiet smoke of his pipe
Dislikes: beings that allow their baser instincts to guide them, being attacked out of nowhere, being the least powerful mage
Fears: dying before fulfilling his dream, not being able to study magic, his magic failing him

Solomon's Outfit
Solomon Moonfall (The Moonlit Magus) Solomo10

Height: 6 ft
Weight: 165 lbs
Appearance: Solomon looks like a man in about his late twenties, who seems to keep his body in very good shape. He also has a face that is usually in a calm smile. He has a lighter shade of brown for skin color, with golden eyes, an oddity in the Heanta. His eyes also have a red coloration around them, almost like eyeliner. Atop his head sits his horns, colored red. They sit right before his hairline, and stand a bit taller than his hair. Speaking of, Solomon's hair is a light silver in coloration, and is long enough to reach the small of his back. He usually styles it into a loose ponytail, with bangs framing his face, and a smaller part covering the left part of his face, but not enough to cover his left eye. He also has a large braid, styled to the left, and reaches slightly past his pectorals. Solomon also has black, swirling tattoos covering his arms, from his wrist to his shoulders. The designs lead naturally into his demon matrix, which are on his shoulders, and are a similar style to the tattoos. He has seal-looking tattoos on the top of his hands, along with black lines on his fingers, but they only go up the first part of his finger. His nails are permanently black, and slightly longer than a humans. Solomon also has no visible weapons on him.

Clothing: Solomon's outfit is a mixture of ornate, and simple practicality. He wears a tight, sleeveless, white shirt, with gold accents, and the sides colored black. He has on black trousers, with black boots, underneath robe-like fabrics, colored black, and white, with a black leather-like robe over that, accented with red lines running down it. It is held in place by a black, leather belt-like covering, with gold accents, and a red, braided rope, held together with three gold rings. A length of rope is left hanging down, and tied off with two more gold rings at the end, being a little higher than his knees. Over his whole outfit, Solomon wears a white cloak, with swirling, red designs running over it, and the inside being red. Solomon also wears two gold rings around his neck, with three more at varying positions on his arm: one at his wrist, one in the middle of his forearm, and one before his elbow. He also wears eight rings, one for each finger besides his thumbs.

Fighting Style

General Fighting Tactics: Solomon is very unorthodox, to a normal mage, or even a heanta. Despite most mages fighting more from a distance, and focusing there, Solomon is very melee-focused mage. It's one of the main reasons he created his Blackleaf Tattoos. He can create weapons on the fly, and use them quite well, despite the amount he has stored. He focuses on speedy, hard hits at vital areas, to end his fights quickly.

Solomon, due to his focus on ending fights quickly, doesn't really banter during a fight. He stays on target, sometimes to his own disadvantage. He doesn't have a problem with killing, but doesn't play with his food, as he puts it. He can tell the difference between a fight for real, and a fight for fun, though.

Combat Stats-

( All stats are considered average unless stated. Stats must be balanced. You must decrease a stat to increase a stat. Raising one to good means you must lower one to fair. Read The Character Combat Stats Guide for more information)

Strength || Good
Speed ||  Fair
Agility ||  Fair
Durability || Average
Stamina || Fair
Magical Power || Very Good

Strengths:
Unorthodox Fighting Style: Due to the variety of weapons he can utilize with his Runic Projection Magic, it is incredibly difficult to predict how Solomon is going to fight an opponent. This doesn't mean it is impossible to do so, just that it is difficult.
Skilled in Multiple Weapons: Solomon, while not a master of any weapon he can summon, is capable with almost all of them. He can fight quite well with his projected weapons, and can catch some opponents off guard with his fighting skills

Weaknesses:
Pain: Solomon, despite being a very melee focused kind of mage, feels pain much more acutely than other Heanta. It can seriously mess with Solomon's concentration, if he is hit even a little harder than a usual punch.
Singular Focus: Solomon, due to being very focused on ending fights as soon as possible, is much more susceptible to enemy feints, or traps.

Weapons

Primary Equipment
Name: Blackleaf Aurilium Tattoos
Type: Weapon
Description: Solomon's equipment is actually the tattoos all over his arms. They are made from a mixture of Aurilium, and other chemicals that Solomon hasn't revealed, in order for the metal to sink into, and stay in the skin. This allowed Solomon to enchant the metal in his arms, to create his Runic Projection Magic. The tattoo's also act as a form of armor, akin to steel.
Enchantments:

Name: Runic Projection Magic
Type: Support
Damage Category: (If any; Very Weak, Weak, Average, Strong, Very Strong)
Description: Solomon's Runic Projection Magic is directly tied to the tattoo's on his arms. It is a subset of magic that Solomon created. These boost the magical pathways in his arms, and allow him to create weapons directly made of his own magic. He is able to create a variety of weapons, ranging from swords, to spears, axes, knives, etc. He cannot summon more than one weapon at a time though, unless it is under 2 feet long, and the weapons are breakable, akin to steel weapons. He can also use his weapons to do magic. He also doesn't make ranged weapons, due to them not complimenting his fighting style.

Background

History: Solomon was the firstborn child of Tilurion and Sheva Moonfall. His father, Tilurion, is the current leader of Clan Moonfall, while his mother was a former warrior who rose to high status in Clan Hornless before marrying Tilurion. Solomon, being the first born, was raised in a manner befitting the next in line to lead the clan. However, also from a young age, Solomon took an incredible liking to magecraft, and magic in general. And, as long as he did the things that were expected of him, Solomon was allowed to dive into this side of himself. Despite his parents doting, and loving attitude towards him, Solomon became a child known for how quiet, but serious he was. He also seemed to treat the slaves fairly, even at a young age. If they messed up while Solomon was around, he would listen to them explain what had happened, and doled out punishment equal to the mistake. He never killed them, much to the shock of the slaves, and some could even say that being a slave for Clan Moonfall was more akin to being a worker at an estate. It was also during this time that Solomon was first being accosted for his skin color, and strange eye color. He was called many things, such as hald Eldari, and that his father must've lain with an Eldari whore to create such a kid. Though, saying these things to Solomon himself stopped as quickly as they started, as he ruthlessely took care of the only people insane enough to say it directly to him. He blinded one, and almost killed the other, and since then, those kinds of rumours only were talked out of earshot of the young Heanta. To Solomon, however, it didn't actually bother him. But, letting things like this go was incredibly stupid, and would cause problems much later on.

As Solomon grew older, he eventually found, much to his annoyance, that one of Clan Strixa's many son's, Remus, had developed something akin to a one-sided rivalry with him. Solomon never engaged with this, instead focusing more on his magical tomes, which his parents always seemed to be able to find for him. Remus, for his own part, never fully pushed the stronger Heanta to totally ripping him apart. A move that even Solomon found wise. Solomon also began to withdraw from normal Heanta society during this time. Not because he couldn't walk the streets, but because he found his home city so incredibly dull. It's also during this time his first few experiments on what would eventually become his Blackleaf Aurilium Tattoos. He typically used animals that had perished recently, as Solomon did not think normal beings could survive the procedure either way. He did gain alot of useful knowledge from this, but Solomon also understood that if he were to take this new study to it's conclusion, he would need to get stronger, and gain his Demon Matrix. It was during these days that Solomon also began to train his body for the Trials that were rapidly approaching. He also did it as a way to make his body ready for the Blackleaf Aurilium treatment as well.

Finally, the time came for Solomon's turn in the Trials of Na'Kora. Solomon was prepared, and only brought w shortsword with him. Remus was also there, and Solomon immediately set on ignoring the loud Heanta. Unknown to Solomon, however, Remus had set up most of the Heanta to help him eliminate the stronger man. Once the Trials started, Solomon made his way forward, almost ignoring the other Heanta who were around him. The Trial was unusually a quiet, and uneventful one for Solomon. It was as if his disinterest extended beyond himself, and was influencing the Trials themselves. However, halfway through them, Solomon was set upon by the group Remus had put together, as well as the other Heanta in the Trial, as they believed that this was the best shot they had. Solomon, for his own part, immediately began slaughtering them all, with ruthless efficiency, shocking some of the gathered Heanta, and especially Remus. Solomon, instead of being his normal, calm self, instead grew angry that, instead of trying to kill him, like he figured Remus was trying to, that he instead hung back, and watched the ones he had convinced to kill Solomon die. He then continued his slaughter, leaving Remus for last, much to the young Heanta's terror. After killing everyone, it was only Solomon, and Remus left. Calmly walking over, and grabbing the coward by the front of his tunic, Solomon said nothing, as he threw him down, into the lava pits below. Solomon then made his way out of the Trial, the only one to do so. When asked what had happened to the others, Solomon told those gathered around what had happened. A chorus of cheers, and boos swept through the throng of Heanta, and Solomon simply left. He knew now, more than ever, that he needed his Demon Matrix. He needed to finish his Blackleaf Aurilium treatment. As he also knew that Clan Strixa would be after him fully at this point.

Solomon would only spend a few days at the Moonfall household, before leaving to get his Demon Matrix. As he set off, his mind was racing. Finally. He was going to finally be able to put his biggest theory to the test on a Heanta. And of course, that Heanta was him. He got what he needed, again without incident, and made for the mouth of the volcano, where every Heanta had made their Matrix. The process tired Solomon, somewhat shocking the young Heanta, but he quickly shook off his shock, and implanted his Demon Matrix into each of his shoulders. He felt the rush as power went through him, and he cracked a small smile. He then got serious again, and made his way back home. Solomon did take a few days to rest, while getting his most trusted slaves to gather resources for him. Finally, the time had come.

Solomon had told everyone in the Moonfall Clan not bother him during this time, no matter how long he was busy. He would emerge, or he would die. He sat down on a chair, and looked at the concoction he had created. It was black, as black as his Demon Matrix. Steadying himself, he grabbed a needle, small, and extremely sharp, made of Divinium. Solomon had this made for this specific reason. Divinium wouldn't lose it's sharpness. Dipping it in, Solomon started on the arduous task of grafting the Blackleaf Aurilium to his arms. It wasn't painful at first, but soon, the pain truly reached an intensity that even made Solomon almost pass out. He gritted his teeth, and continued, weaving the Blackleaf Aurilium into intricate designs on his arms, and hands. The process took Solomon a week and a half to finish. When it was over, Solomon actually felt a tear fall down his cheek. He laughed, and wiped it away, before leaving the room, much to the shock of the slave that had been posted at the door. Solomon simply asked to be carried to bed, and the servant obliged, helping the drained Heanta to his bed. Solomon allowed himself one more laugh of victory, before allowing the darkness of rest to take him. He woke up, unsure of how much time had passed. He tensed his fingers, and found that they moved. He got up, and looked at his arms. He saw the patchwork of Blackleaf Aurilium on his arms. Testing every part of them, he found no lasting damage, and knew that the hardest part was behind him. He learned that he had been asleep for a few days, and Solomon felt like it. He was rejuvenated, and set about to enchanting his new "equipment". He settled on the ability to summon weapons, as he had always trained with them, even as he studied magic. That process took a lot less time then placing the metal into his skin, but Solomon was happy with the results. He trained with the enchantment for a time, truly learning the limits of it. Satisfied, Solomon Now had one more thing to prove. That he could recreate the process in another. However, due to his criteria being unusually high, he didn't find anyone who we would be willing to give the gift he had created. So, Solomon settled into a routine of helping his family run their Clan, and continuing his thirst for magical knowledge.

Solomon, much to his distaste, took part in the secret war that was now being waged between the Moonfall, and Strixa Clans. He was a big player, and mostly went to do battle alongside his mother, Sheva, while his father stayed behind, in case anything happened to either of them. Solomon's Runic Projection Magic proved to be quite a boon to the Moonfall, who won more fights than lost. However, it was during this not-secret war that Sheva was horribly injured, and would've died had it not been for her son. Solomon took his mother back to the family estate, and their best healers went to work. Solomon, for the most part, went on a rampage through the Strixa in retaliation. They soon found out that the damage to Sheva meant that she couldn't have children anymore. The war escalated, to the point where the Warlord had to step in, and get the two sides to a very uneasy ceasefire. It was at this point, due to a request from his mother, that Solomon set out to find a way to heal her.

Solomon left Kyrias, not entirely sure if he was even going to find anything that would heal his mother's injuries. He was also under not pretenses while he was away. If another race, especially an Eldari tried to make trouble for him, it might mean he wouldn't be coming back. However he set either way, and it was months before he returned. During this time, he stopped at many places, looked for any mages he could, and got into a few close calls, including one where he got too close to an Eldari patrol. It was this event that would prove to be life changing for the Heanta. The patrol had closed in on Solomon, and he knew that running, or explaining would be less than ideal at that point. However, a calm voice rang out, and told the patrol to stop. The patrol seemed to know who this was, and lowered their weapons. An Eldari unlike any Solomon thought could exist than came into view. He had a smile on his face, and seemed quite a bit calmer than the other Eldari. One of the soldiers said his name, and Solomon's heart almost stopped from shock. Merlin, the Magus of Flowers was right in front of him. He did not seem to have any ill will towards the Heanta, and actually ordered the patrol to move on, saying that Merlin did not fear Solomon. The patrol did as the mage asked, though perhaps more slowly than they normally would. Merlin turned back to Solomon, and asked him why he was so far away from Kyrias. Solomon didn't answer for a while. Here was one of his peoples old enemies. Merlin was a name known to most Heanta. One of the most powerful mages in the known world, and he was right in front of Solomon. Solomon slowly began to explain what had happened to his mother, and why he was out in the world now. Merlin's face became perplexed, and his eyes flittered for a second, taking on the exact same color as Solomon's. Merlin then nodded, before pointing at the young man's tattoo's, asking if they were magical. Solomon nodded, and a feeling he hadn't felt since he had finished the procedure to gain the tattoo's overcame him. Happiness. He was happy that Merlin seemed interested in the Blackleaf Aurilium. Merlin seemed to be thinking for for a second, before the smile came back. He said that, while not one-hundred percent sure, he would be willing to try and help Solomon's mother, in exchange for the story behind Solomon's tattoo's. Solomon readily accepted, and the two mages set off, back to Solomon's home.

As they traveled, Merlin marveled over what Solomon had accomplished, at such a young age. He called him a magical genius, the type born every once and a while. Solomon, while not entirely sure how to take the eccentric Eldari, nonetheless gained a healthy amount of respect for Magus of Flowers. He was not at all like the stories that he had been told as a youngster. They soon arrived in Heanta lands, and Merlin, for the most part, became much more alert. Even he couldn't just walk into Av'eden City. The two mages snuck into the city, and made it to the Moonfall compound, with no real problems. Merlin, when he entered, immediately went to where Sheva was, bypassing many slaves, and servants in the process. Solomon followed, not paying any heed to anyone. Not even his father, when he saw them both. Instead Merlin pushed past the Heanta, with Solomon close behind. Merlin, on meeting Sheva, bowed to her, and explained who he was, and why he was there. Tilurion asked how much it would cost them to do this, and Merlin answered, with a smile that irritated the Heanta, that he had already been payed for more than enough. Merlin asked the others to leave Sheva, Merlin, and Solomon alone, as the magus would need extreme concentration, and he knew from travelling with him, that Solomon would simply observe, and leave Merlin to his work. Merlin used a spell Solomon didn't recognize, and put Sheva to sleep. He then looked at the wound, and grimaced, slightly. He muttered to himself, and Solomon thought he heard, "You kids, and your wars that do not mean anything." Merlin then went to work, weaving magic in ways Solomon didn't think possible. However, Solomon was also aware that everything Merlin was doing, he wasn't learning any of it. The magic wasn't sticking in his mind. Solomon wondered why, but continued to wait in silence. The procedure took hours, and when he was done, Merlin didn't seem happy. He sighed, before turning to Solomon. He explained that, though he did what he could, his mother would only be able to have one more child. And even that might be a long shot. Solomon nodded, saying that was better than what they had before. Tilurion, however, was furious, demanding that Merlin go back, and try again. Questioning the old Eldari. This seemed to anger the mage, who flung Tilurion against the wall, and held him there magically. Merlin's presence seemed to fill the entire room, as he calmly, but sternly told the Heanta that he shouldn't have sent Sheva to fight, if he cared this much about her. He let Tilurion go, and walked away, before bowing to Solomon, saying that this was not the last time they would meet. The room then went pitch black, and Solomon heard the sound of a birds wings, before the darkness abated, and Merlin was gone.

Tilurion, and Sheva tried for many years, and finally achieved another child, a girl this time, which they named Umbra. Solomon didn't see much of his sister at this point, being to focused on his magical studies. He did know that she was frail, and their parents kept her in the house at all times, to protect her. Solomon, in line with learning more about magic, left Heanta lands for a bit, and it was during this time that Umbra was kidnapped. Solomon returned to the house in a state of shambles. His mother and father approached him, telling Solomon what had happened, and begged him to find his sister. Solomon agreed, and began with asking if any of Umbra's blood had been spilled. It had, and Solomon used that, and a feather to cast Track. The feather showed Solomon where Umbra was, and Solomon wasn't surprised to find it was Remis Strixa who had taken her. Solomon assaulted the building where they were keeping Umbra, slaying two of Remis's sons, much to Solomon's pleasure. Then, remis himself appeared, And Solomon almost ripped his throat out there, but Remis managed to slime his way out of Solomon's reach, and disappear into the night. Solomon went to free Umbra, saying "Idiot. You should know that you can't fight." Umbra wasn't aware of her surroundings, and Solomon took this moment to place his hand on her forehead, and put on display a moment of affection for his sister. "At least you're alive. I would've razed that entire family to the ground if you were not." Aware that reinforcements were coming, Solomon took Umbra away, where she was cared for by the families doctors.

After a time, umbra came to Solomon, with a request that shocked him. she wanted him to give her the same augments that he had. Solomon agreed, but told her that is wasn't going to be easy. For one, she needed her Demon Matrix. And even then, her body might reject the treatment, and leave her worse off than she was now. This didn't change Umbra's mind, so Solomon went with her to the entrance to the forge. There he waited, patiently, until Umbra returned, now with a Demon Matrix. Nodding his approval, Solomon began his work, though he changed the recipe from his Blackleaf, to a Goldleaf design set into a solid piece of metal. It also met his sister's strange request, for it to look artful. It took Solomon a year to make it, but when it was done, Solomon got to work immediately. He got everything ready, before calling for Umbra. He gave her one chance to change her mind. Once he started, it wasn't possible for him to stop. Umbra was stubborn, however, a trait Solomon found a bit endearing. Once they were both ready, Solomon set to work performing the ritual, using both of their innate magical power to imbue and set the Goldleaf into her skin. It wasn't long until the pain seemed to take umbra over. Solomon knew that this wasn't going to bode well, and so knocked her out with a brew he had created specifically for this. In only a few hours, much to Solomon's pride, the job was done, and the Goldleaf had fused with her skin as her regeneration took over and healed her. Solomon gave her a few months to recover again, telling her to think carefully about the enchantments she wanted to put on the Goldleaf.

Several years later, And Umbra had truly taken to her augments. He had allowed her to do this herself, as only Umbra could know what she wanted out of her powers. Fate changed for him, though, and Solomon was surprised to see that Merlin had contacted him. The Magus of Flowers wanted to discuss something with Solomon. Unlike Umbra, Solomon had free reign to leave their families compound at any time. Solomon set out, telling almost no one that he was leaving. He journeyed for some time, before meeting the enigmatic mage, some ways away from the Golden City. What they discussed there, only they know, but Solomon took it upon himself to tell Merlin that he was taking an interest in what was going on in the world now. He wasn't entirely sure why, but Solomon knew it was now time to do the same thing Merlin had done for most of his life. Expand his horizons, and see what the world had to offer a mage like Solomon. With that, the two parted ways, and Solomon began his new chapter in life, ready to see what awaited him.
