Forum Rules

Asmir is a place for everyone to have fun, relax and take a break from the world outside. As such, there are things we need to make clear about behavior and conduct in and out of character, and a few things to make life easier for staff, to keep things peaceful, relaxing and welcoming to everyone. Do not be afraid to talk to staff if you think someone’s breached a rule. We’re here to help.

We will always do our best to avoid banning a person, which will only be done in the most severe cases. We’d prefer to never have to issue a warning, though. Staff retain the rights to make additions and changes to rules. If a Rule change happens, everyone will be informed through announcements.

Out of Character

1. We do not tolerate bullying, harassment or meanness to anyone. This includes insults based on race, gender, orientation or Religion. We accept everyone here.

2. If you and another member have a problem with each other, please sort it out in private if at all possible. If it escalates, you should speak to staff.

3. No posting links to explicit material in any of the boards or on the chat. Any posts with anything deemed explicit will be removed.

If you witness something going down, especially another member being bullied, consider taking a screenshot and sending it to staff. It will help us greatly.

Roleplaying

These rules keep RP fair and fun. We understand that newer players might make mistakes, and we will always do our best to sort breaches of these rules out without causing a major fuss. Most of the time, it’s just a case of simply editing posts.

1. No instant killing or killing without permission. Characters cannot die in RP unless the owner wants them to. This includes important npcs. Otherwise killing is only allowed in the Arena Of Blood, and death in the Arena is not Permanent unless the owner wants it to be.

2.No Instant hits, or calling hits. This means everyone must be given a chance to dodge or block. If someone doesn't post for a few days, you cannot skip them and say all of your attacks hit either.

3.You can't dodge or block every hit. Everyone gets hit eventually, no matter how fast or strong. The only time this would be allowed and not considered cheating is if the rank difference between the two characters fighting is huge.

4. No Meta-gaming. Meta-gaming is when you have your character react to knowledge that you as a player know, but your character shouldn't know yet. If you're still unsure about this, feel free to ask.

5. No God-Modding. God Modding is when your character is played as being far more powerful than they should be, or use powers they shouldn't have access to. Again, if you're unsure, please ask.

6.No power Playing, controlling another players character in other words. For the sake of storytelling this can be ignored if permission is given by the character’s owner.

7.No timestamping. Its not used here. Combat is dealt with post by post.

Character Creation

1. There are no limits on characters, that being said if you're seen to be making an excess amount and not actually using all those characters, we can deny you making a new one after ten characters. If you can rp more than 10 characters and keep up with them, then fair play to you.

2. You must use our template, its easier for staff to grade your app if we know what we're looking at. We will refuse to grade any apps not using our template. You may use html to spruce up the template, or add some additional things like music.

3. For now, we do not allow custom races. That's just too much work on the staff. However if enough people express interest in having a new race added to the forum, we may consider it.

4. A character is limited to the number of ability slots given on the app. This is to maintain balance between players.

5. No superPowerRangerForceTeamFighting. In other words, creating multiple characters that cover each other's weaknesses perfectly and fight as a team, who always miraculously show up to help each other out of a tight spot or spend every waking minute together.
