Ghosts of the Past - Aftermath

Liliana Vs Rowan, Yavanna, Merlin, Rex, Shade and Alura Wonderweich
Rowan and Yavanna tackle the overpowered Liliana wielding the God Chain, and are summarily driven back. Merlin arrives to assist, attempting to end Liliana with Ars Almadel Salomonis, a spell so destructive that Liliana is surprised he would even attempt it. However, his weakened state allows her to easily overcome the attack and defeat him. Outmatched by the necromancer, her victory is at hand until the sudden arrival of the Asentari reinforcements. Summoning all of her undead to defend the Conduit, Liliana retreats to begin her ritual, but midway through it Alura Wandereich breaks through her forces to face her head on. A calamitous battle ensues between the two, which Lilian wins, barely. As she attempts to finish the Ritual and raise all of Ka’lesa’s dead at once, Brutus attacks Lilian and is killed, but in doing so gives Alura enough time to use Erolath’s Fist, sacrificing her life to destroy the conduit and Liliana, and in doing so causing the God Chain to shatter.

The Asentari
The Primoris Rex and her forces arrive at the gates, flooding the entrance with wyvern elemental blasts. After getting the situation report from the Marina Kaverra, she leaves the majority of her forces there to assist, while she, Shade, Rex, and two other wyverns, their riders and soldiers, go to Serenity Valley.

The Kijin (Taisho, Hashira, Asaka, Kanetsugu, Kojiro, Tohma)
The Kijin arrive, having been summoned by Merlin before he goes to where Liliana is at. Taisho promptly moves against the main undead leader, and the Captains of the Lotus also move their forces to help where they are needed. After the battle, Taisho Calls upon Asaka, and Kanetsugu to bring word to Kamatori Tsuno, and the rest of the Council that Enma had escaped, and this was top priority. After everything cools down, the Kijin retreat back to their underground home, in order to prepare to find the escaped Enma.

Aristorath
The monstrous resurrected form of Aristorath kills the illness-weakened King of Mondolin, and threatens to do the same to Fayla Shor, before she is joined by Vala, Yurei and Rory Bloomfield. The four fight valiantly, but are pushed to the brink of defeat, both by the undead warrior, and the sudden betrayal of Yurei, who stabs Vala. Revealing his true name, Enma, death looms before the arrival of a hitherto unknown force, the Kijin led by Taisho Sanada. Enma promptly departs, and Taisho is able to assist the trio and defeats Aristorath for the final time.

Mith Silvanus
The city sustains hefty damage in the aftermath of the battle. The King of Mondolin is killed by the monster Aristorath after succumbing to his illness in the heat of battle. Within the city, the market district and forward army barracks are heavily damaged by the undead horde that enters through the breached gate, before they are halted by Andreas Toral and a unit of army reserves and recruits led by Jensen Reinhart and Clint Toral. Among them are Gawain, Leona and Lily Aurora. The defenders are bolstered by the Kijin forces that arrived, and the city holds firm.

Edaria
Aline Drexara and Bethany Merciallus arrive with a contingent of horsemen from Edaria, assisting the city with a valiant charge on the enemy.

Aftermath
In the wake of the battle, Mith Silvanus and the greater world face uncertain times. The emergence of the Kijin sent shockwaves throughout the land, as the Order of the Sun tried to open diplomatic channels with the Kijin.

The Kijin, for their part, are moving slowly to rouse themselves after their first true foray into the world. The Council deliberates on whether or not this outing should be the only one. Taisho argues for more forays, due to the impending threat of Enma, bolstered by the voice of Kamatori.

The Kingdom of Mondolin turns its gaze inward, with the passing of the King and the damage sustained in the battle causing some friction within the Mondolin nobility. The process of appointing a new King begins, with two vastly different candidates emerging. The King’s court mage is also missing at this time.

The Asentari, for their part, also had to deal with their own losses, with the death of Alura Wanderweich necessitating the appointment of a new Primoris Rex. Armagand Kor emerges as the likely successor.

The involvement of Liliana Korvesa brings the Eldari under greater scrutiny, which causes the already volatile schism within the Golden Council to divide further, with the proponents of peaceful cooperation with other nations using the debacle as fuel for their ideal of reaching out to the world. Merlin has retreated into his tower, and refuses any visitors, even Mariel, and Fayla Shor.

Meanwhile in the North
News travels down from Kyrias telling tales of a civil war in the Heanta capital, between Clan Hornless and the Warlord Roth Vandel. With other clans taking sides or attempting to take control for themselves, a bloody battle has shaken up the Heanta’s hierarchies. Roth Vandel was killed, and Celeana the Hornless is missing and presumed dead in the fighting. Clan Hornless is left leaderless and most of its members have fled Kyrias or joined with Clans Moonfall and Rakoris. The new Warlord is Kran Sarkus who seized control with the help of a mysterious warrior, and has brought the clans to heel under his command.

Battle for Medin Taji
The group that entered Medin Taji are quickly overwhelmed by the Blight Witch who is far more powerful than it first appeared. Even the princess’ deadly fire isn’t as effective as expected and fails to destroy the monstrosity. Talion tells the others to flee and gives his life to hold the Blight Witch back. Talia is knocked out by Gwyn who promised Talion she would save the princess should the worst happen, and the group flee, suffering heavy casualties as they escape the ruined city.
