What is the Combat Spell List?

This is a list of magical abilities you can choose from to beef up your arsenal, giving lower tiered mages a little extra to keep them on par with the more physically inclined warriors on the site. These abilities are not supposed to be amazing, but it gives characters room to focus on more unique powers of their own. You cannot make custom spells for this list, and can only choose your extra spells from it.

How does it work?

You can only choose abilities you meet the prerequisites for. Good and Very Good spells cannot be chosen until you reach the required tiers, though you can still choose up to four abilities if you happen to have Very Good Magical Power. You do not need to add the entire ability to your app, just the names of the abilities. You can change your chosen spells when your character reaches R-1 and E-1, or when you make edits to your app that require staff approval. The spells you choose do not need to match your own element.

Prerequisites

You need to have a certain level of magical power to use the different spells of the list. This is based on your character's Base Magical power at creation, any boosts gained for higher ranks, racial traits or transformations do not apply.

Another thing to note is you cannot take 4 average, good or very good spells. You may have any number of Poor or fair spells, but are limited to 2 average, 1 good and one very good spells.

Name: Shockwave
Type: Support
Damage Category: N/A
Description: The caster unleashes a shockwave that explodes out 10 feet from the casters body, but doing no damage. However it contains enough force to knock an opponent away, if caught within the blast.

Name: Wind Snare
Type: Support
Damage Category: N/A
Description: The caster fires out a wind vortex that sucks the intended target towards them, allowing them to follow up with a melee attack. 10ft range.
Cooldown: 1 post
Name: Mana Bolt
Type: Offense
Damage Category: Very Weak
Description: Fires a bolt of magic from the caster's hand. The user can fire 5 in rapid succession. 25ft range

Name: Tangle
Type: Support
Damage Category: N/A
Description: The caster fires a vine from their hand that attempts to tangle around the target, temporarily disrupting them. It can be easily broken. 5ft range.

Name: Energy Barrier
Type: Defensive
Damage Category: Weak
Description: Creates a barrier in front of the caster. The barrier can stop a single weak magical or physical attack before it vanishes.
Cooldown: 1 post
Name: Enchant: Fire
Type: Support
Damage Category: N/A
Description: Enchant the casters weapon of choice (swords, spears, bows, fists etc) With fire. The fire does not harm the caster, and every attack with the weapon does additional fire based damage. Does not stack with other enchant spells.
Cooldown:  1 post duration, 2 post cooldown
Name: Enchant: Ice
Type: Support
Damage Category: N/A
Description: Enchants the Casters weapon of choice (swords, spears, bows, fists etc) with Ice. The ice forms into spikes or a razor edge, and adds to the damaging properties of the weapon. it does not harm the caster. Does not stack with other enchant spells.

Description: Enchants the Casters weapon of choice (swords, spears, bows, fists etc) with lightning. Lighting courses through the weapon in question, without harming the caster, and shocks anything it hits, doing lightning based damage. Does not stack with other enchant spells.

Name: Mana Volley
Type: Offensive
Damage Category: Very Weak x 10
Description: Fires a spread of 10 mana bolts from the caster’s hands that each deal very weak damage on impact. Scatter-shot pattern, making it more difficult to dodge. 30ft range.

Name: Wall of Fire
Type: Defensive
Damage Category: Weak
Description: Caster creates a barrier of fire that can stop a weak magical or physical attack. The barrier can also ignite anything flammable that comes into contact with it, and inflicts minor burns on unprotected flesh. Wall is a square the same height as the caster.

Name: Wall of Ice
Type: Defensive
Damage Category: Weak
Description: Caster creates a barrier of ice that can stop a weak magical or physical attack and, and freezes the ground around the user, making it slippery. Wall is a square the same height as the caster.

Name: Wall of Lightning
Type: Defensive
Damage Category: Weak
Description: Caster creates a barrier of lightning that can stop a weak magical or physical attack. The barrier can also throw off a Very Weak electric shock with a 5 foot range. Wall is a square the same height as the caster.

Name: Mana Storm
Type: Offensive
Damage Category: Average
Description: FIres a barrage of 20 mana bolts from the casters hands. Each deal very weak damage on impact. It is a wildly inaccurate spray that covers a wide area, making it quite problematic to dodge. 40ft range.

Name: Shock
Type: Offensive
Damage Category: Average
Description: The caster fires a bolt of lightning from their fingertip that deals average damage on impact. When faced with two opponents in close proximity the caster can split the bolt, dealing Weak damage to each on impact instead. 50ft Range.
Cooldown: 2 posts.
Name: Firestrike
Type: Offensive
Damage Category: Average
Description: The user launches a compact ball of fire that moves quickly and explodes in a fiery blaze covering a 5ft area on impact, dealing Average damage. Can ignite the environment and clothing. 50ft Range

Name: Ice Orb

Damage Category: Average
Description: The User lobs a ball of ice that explodes in a blast of cold energy on impact covering a 5ft area, freezing a small area of impact around it. 50ft Range

Damage Category: Average
Description: The User forms a Barrier of Energy in front of them that is capable of stopping an average attack, or negating part of the damage from a stronger attack.

Type: Support
Damage Category: N/A
Description: A blast of wind hits a target and pushes them in the caster’s chosen direction. Can be used to push them away or towards the caster, or down, or in any direction except up, unless they're in the air already. Can put out fires and deflect light enough non-magic projectiles, such as arrows. Stronger targets may resist.

Damage Category: Strong
Description: A pillar of flame drops on a target area, erupting in a blast of fire that hits everything in a five foot area. 50ft range.

Name: Chain Lightning
Type: Offense
Damage Category: Strong
Description: The caster fires a bolt of lighting that can bounce from one target to another, once, dealing strong damage to the first target and average to the second.

Name: Ice Spears
Type: Offense
Damage Category: Weak X 4
Description: The causter launches 4 spears of ice at up to 4 separate targets. The Ice spears explode on impact dealing weak cold damage.
Cooldown: 3 posts
Name: Energy Sphere
Type: Defensive
Damage Category: Strong
Description: The caster is surrounded by an orb of energy that can protect them against damage up to a Maximum of strong, or mitigate half the damage of a very strong attack.
