Name: Tohma Tomoshibi
Age: Early 20s
True Age: 82 years old
Sex: Male
Personality: Tohma is a soft spoken individual who doesn't like to be bothered with mundane tasks. He finds the meetings boring, and most reports makes him sleepy. He prefers the outdoors, and breezy days. Relaxed as he is, he's also spoiled a bit, needing his assistant to even help dress him properly. Still, he doesn't like restricting himself to a certain lifestyle, and enjoys the carefree life afforded to him by his position. With virtually no expectations of him, he was free to do as he pleases. Even so, he chose the sword, much to the surprise of his father and siblings. Though they were disappointed that he didn't take on their family's sword style, or any kind at all, but weren't too surprised either. He's a carefree and gentle soul, though clearly not so gentle that he couldn't defend himself or others.

Tohma is as kind as anyone, and almost blatantly ignores insults and general nastiness thrown his way. His overly calm demeanor has managed to piss off a fair amount of people, but also allowed him to point out hypocrisies and compromises. And give solid reasoning for said compromises. This has earned him something of a reputation for being a peacemaker, since in the end, he just wants a peaceful life. While not quite as firm or dutiful as his peers, he does show that he's willing to work with others, including those "lower" than him. He never asks you to do a job he isn't willing to do himself. That said...he's surprisingly incompetent at most things. He can feed animals just fine, but just about anything else is a no go for him. His assistant often has to do things for him, much to said assistant's chagrin. While said assistant is more strict than he is, Tohma is very approachable, if a tad annoying to deal with.

As far as his clan goes, he is the second youngest of his four siblings. With his oldest sibling taking over the clan, second oldest busy running the breeding and selling of their mounts, and youngest managing one of the most prestigious hot springs of the city,  he felt like he should do something more with his life than going through it listless. And thus he decided to protect. In his own way. Tohma also wanted to have some form of freedom, hence the Blue Lotus was born to assist the other sections of their military. He's dutiful and reliable enough, and before even he knew it, was heading up the division. While the leadership of the division did often keep him chained to his desk, it did offer him excuses to check outside and explore. A curiosity of the world and seeing the beauty of the world, even if it was sometimes through third-party means. His promotion to the position was somewhat controversial, though the tests thrown his way did win him the promotion.

His relationship with his siblings is that of a mother hen...he breaks up fights and keep rivalries from spilling over or going too far. His two oldest are especially adversarial to each other, with his youngest often going at it with their second oldest as well. While he never had to actually fight his siblings, he has had to break up fights...most fortunate he decided to take on the sword, even though all his siblings were also trained in one weapon or another. Luckily, everyone's busy schedules did keep them from diving too far into their differences, and they do support each other in their own ways. Something Tohma is quick to point out when fights start getting hurtful. Their father is much appreciated by this, but also appreciates the criticism that his children have of both him and each other. Something that inspired Tohma is that their father used the criticism to grow, even into his old age and retiring as head of the family. "Keep an open mind, and always be aware of where you can grow. You are never perfect. But be the men and women that you want to be...and be the best possible version of yourselves."

While younger than most of his other peers, they do not doubt his abilities at least, despite his problems listed above. He is after all, dutiful enough to get things done. Some of the newer soldiers and other divisions might, but he had at least earned the respect of the captains and other leaders of the Lotus. And while he hates resorting to violence and often goes through great lengths to avoid its use, he is not afraid to draw his sword. He and his assistant often chit chat and tease each other, but most of his other peers he doesn't hold such a relationship. While approachable, Tohma is hardly the socialite. Much like an introvert, he maintains a healthy working relationship with the other division captains.

Appearance

Height: 5'5"
Weight: 128 lbs.
Appearance: Tohma is relatively short compared to other male members of his family, and fairly skinny as well, with fair skin, white hair done up in a pony-tail (sometimes off center, sometimes not), and a red strip in his hair. He also has red eyes and a youthful appearance. His white forehead jewel that's in the center of his forehead, and is about half-dollar coin in size. His physique belies his swiftness in a fight, though he also prefers using his magic over physical confrontations. He is considered pretty for a guy, and soft spoken.

Clothing: He has no sense of propriety and tries not to dress for his position within the clan. Nevertheless, he can often be seen wearing a short sleeved kimono and haori coat, with half of the coat draped behind his waist and secured by an obi belt. Assuming his assistant doesn't got to him first. Otherwise it's forced on him properly. He often keeps a shoulder patch of armor as part of his official uniform, as well as red hakama pants and combat sandals. When not in official attire, he still wears similar clothing, just much messier and unkept. He also normally wears black wrist/hand guards on both hands.

Fighting Style

General Fighting Tactics: Tohma uses speed over power, but focuses more on his magical affinity. In single combat or situations where he needs to intervene personally, he often starts with a quick draw/slash, then focuses on attacking the legs or head/neck using a combination of speed and acrobatics. Tohma avoids duels like the plague, kind of earning him a certain reputation for being a coward, even though that's furthest from the truth. He hardly ever wears armor, though if he does, it's usually on the light end. Much to the chagrin of his parents and siblings, he doesn't have a particular style, and is often using his head instead of skill or power.  He is on the rash side. If he feels that danger is close by or someone is in trouble, he will rush out to meet them instead of keeping with his calm body and mind. Even in desperate situations he becomes a bit reckless, and will go ahead of his troops/allies to do as much damage as he can.

Strengths: Calm: His presence often calms those around him, allowing him to defuse tense situations without the need of violence. Likewise, in combat, it calms the troops and lets them better focus on the fight or believe they can turn it around, as well as make better decisions. "When you are calm, you can better make decisions that will provide the best outcome for your goal."

Team Player: He can easily coordinate and attack with his troops and allies, even if he doesn't know them well. His speed allows him to get out of the way of other's attacks and even quickly create an opening for it. Another way he's a team player is that he's good at being able to find and procure supplies and resources, as well as start some form of gossip to soften blows to personal honor or reputations. "You don't have to fight alone. Even if I'm not on the battlefield, I'll do what I can to help."

Weaknesses: Single Combat: While no slouch, he is usually not one to fight by himself. Common thugs are easy enough, but skilled warriors do scare him. He is not cut out for single fights, seeing as most of his skills are either team oriented or requires extensive charge times. The avoidance of such tests have earned him a reputation of cowardice, though those that know him knows this is far from the truth. "A duel? No sir, I believe you are mistaken. This cannot be settled with such a contest."

Solid based Elements: He is a fragile one, more so when solid based elements are involved. Especially since they are, by and large, able to counter or outright nullify his abilities.  "Wind may go around stone, but it will not strike whoever is behind it."

Name: Kaze no Kurayami (Wind's Darkness)
Type: Small Melee
Description:  A standard katana with maybe not quite as much curve as typical. The tsuba is a rounded v that is gold plated, and the back edge of the blade towards the tip is jagged. The handle is purple in color, with a gold pommel with decorative tassels. It is enchanted steel. The scabbard is worn standard, and is dark purple with cyan/turquoise streaks on it.

Name: Wind's Shadow Dance
Type: Offensive
Damage Category: Weak x 3
Description: Three circular shuriken of black energy is fired in any pattern he wishes, though they do spin on the ground, often moving like they're controlled/guided/homing, even though they are not. They're often appearing like they're dancing, shuffling between each other or moving like a snake. Each one does weak damage.
Duration/Cooldown: 3 post cooldown.

Abyssal Form

Abyssal Powers

Name: Abyssal Surge
Type: Support
Damage Category: N/A
Description: The Kijin harnesses the abyss and merges the power with one of their other abilities, or into their blade. This infusion adds weak damage to their next magical or physical attack, and counts as abyssal energy in regards to resistances. If the next attack is a multiple attack ability, this power only affects the first attack.
Cooldown: 1 post cooldown.

Name: On Wind and Cloud Alike!
Type: Support
Damage Category: N/A
Description: Tohma has no issue with hieghts. This ability centers a ball of abyssal energy beneath him that allows him to float down from hieghts up to ten stories high. No matter his position. He cannot do this consecutively and only with himself. While he can still carry one person, the landing won't be as graceful or soft as it normally is. This can also be used to add on five feet to a jump, whether it's stationary or a running start.
Cooldown: 1 post cooldown.

Powers

Name: Wind's Fury
Type: Offensive
Damage Category: Average
Description: The user builds up magical power, and fires an orb of cyan wind/energy that explodes in a cyclone. The area of effect is somewhat large, at 75 feet. It will travel up to 120 feet before exploding.
Cooldown: 1 post charge time, 2 post cooldown

Name: Wind's Scent
Type: Support
Damage Category: N/A
Description: Tohma stands still and closes his eyes, a gentle breeze of wind starts to flow in all directions around him in a 300 foot radius, allowing him to detect all in the area. However, he cannot even speak before he breaks it. It will even detect most stealth based abilities, unless they make the opponent intangible. Illusions also have no effect on the use of this ability. It does require a small amount of time to focus and charge up the ability, where he cannot attack/defend/move.
Cooldown: 1 post charge time, three post cooldown.

Name: Wind's Slash
Type: Offensive
Damage Category: Strong
Description: After a short time, Tohma slashes with his sword or arm, often in a spin like swinging a heavy sword, with blades of wind lashing out at the enemy like a giant sword, literally. Think of it as a blade of wind extending from his weapon or arm. Range is 30 feet. Often combined with a spin and slash from the scabbard.
Cooldown: 1 post charge time, 3 post cooldown.

Advanced Abyssal Form

Appearance: His hair, eyes, and jewel on his forehead shines more brightly, like an extra gleam or polish to them, but otherwise no noticeable changes.

New Abyssal Powers

Name: Abyssal Pulse
Type: Offensive
Damage Category: Very Weak
Description: A softball sized bubble of abyssal energy is fired from the palm of his hands. It has a range of thirty feet, and has a strong knock back effect. It doesn't do any more damage, just an extra push away. He can fire five of them before a cooldown occurs.
Cooldown: 5 can be fired before a 1 post cooldown starts.

New Powers

Name: Wind's Tune
Type: Support
Damage Category: N/A
Description: Using the wind, he makes a whistling noise that disorients those that listen to it, so long as they are within fifteen feet of him. To the listener, it appears as if the ground is tilting one way or the other all the time and all around them, ruining their sense of balance and making them look/act like a drunk. While it doesn't affect Tohma, it will effect even his allies. The whistling can only last a single post. It can also be interrupted/canceled by loud noises or if the person is deaf, it will have no effect. Those that are hearing impaired, but not completely deaf, is also likely not affected if it's severe, but if it's not very severe, may still be affected, but not as much. It does require a little bit of preparation time.
Cooldown: 1 post charge time, 2 post cooldown.

Name: Divert
Type: Defensive
Damage Category: N/A
Description: A defensive ability that he can cast to defend someone up to fifteen feet away, but also for himself. With a swing of an arm, a blast of wind whirls in front of Tohma, and diverts an average powered attack. The attack cannot be diverted back at the user, but maybe at their allies or environment.
Cooldown: 3 post cd.

Name: Double Trouble
Type: Support?
Damage Category: Relies on Tohma's physical strength
Description: An abyssal energy copy is hurled in front of him. It can strike up to three times before the copy disappears, and the three strikes are reliant on his physical strength. The copy can move up fifty feet total, from basic combat movement to pursuing something. However, it can only stay on the field for a single post. Striking the copy is akin to striking at slightly less viscious water, but still can be disabled/destroyed like a normal person.
Cooldown: 2 post cooldown

Boosts:  Speed +2, Magical Power + 2, Agility +2

Background

History: You want to hear my story, friend? But why? You were there too...oh, you want my version of events? And you want me to start...where at? *sigh* Oh alright, friend...I'll start at the beginning, good thing we just got done with work. The Tomoshibi clan is probably the most relaxed clan right now. It wasn't always the case, but we maintained at least neutral relations with the other clans as of late. That said, we're not strangers to stirs. For starters, mother worked at a tea house, barely making enough money to sustain herself and her siblings, who were also trying to make ends meet. It was...what's the expression? A hole in the wall? But clean and satisfactory. Despite the little place, mother took great pride in it. It was she that taught father to take pride in your work, and make sure it is the best you can offer. Quite romantic, don't you think?

At this point, Father took a renewed interest in clan related affairs, much to the celebration of the clan's elders. Though they did scowl a bit when Father mentioned his intention of marrying a common girl, and more, take in her siblings as a part of the branch and/or subserviant families. Especially since they looked up to their elder sister and likewise took her advice to take pride in their work. The elders thought Mother was weak...and she proved them exceptionally wrong, even while committing several gaffes and taboos for nobility. Still, she charmed them slowly with one on one meetings. My oldest brother was born to the day of their wedding. Naturally, you know that I am the third child, with one older brother and sister, and one younger brother.

While my oldest brother was concerned with taking over Father's role, my oldest sister taking over our uncle's role, and then my younger brother taking over our aunt's hot springs on our mother's side, that left little ol' me...and I was quite the oddity, with a form of albinoism that never manifested itself in our clan before. The elders almost accused Mother of cheating on Father...but even they knew that she was whole heartedly dedicated to Father, and would never do so unless coerced into it. Luckily, it was nothing of the sort...the elders confirmed that I had a lot of innate magic power somehow, and that it affected my appearance to a degree. They were as relieved as Father, Brother, and Sister were, even as all of them were being torn into by Mother. I have little ambition. More curious about the world than anything, and not as prone to settling differences with violence. I was always chastised for going to places that I wasn't supposed to be at. What woke me up and made me think about taking to the sword was an incident with the Kuroi Tsuno. If it weren't for the Tsuno clan arriving, I might have been used as a hostage for ransom...and maybe my two older siblings getting themselves killed. You remember that time, when I came home shaken? Yeah, I didn't realize that was you either. Anyways while our clan were not slouches in the art of combat, it was not our specialty, unlike the Tsuno clan, and the Nakamura clan's shinobi abilities.

We are riders and beast masters by and large, as well as negociaters. But there is no negociating with the Kuroi Tsuno. Like the others, we cooperated with the Tsuno clan to try to rid us of them. Still, it took me two months to come to the decision to protect the family with the sword. But I did not want to limit myself to any style. I wanted to learn the basics then find my own way. Never showing so much determination and no room for talking, it surprised everyone, even myself. Still, I stood firm and shot down anything else they threw at me. Finally relenting, but pleased all the same, they agreed for me to start lessons. It was here that I met you officially, you know. I saw you as a tall naginata user with a strict upbringing, much stricter than mine. And very intimidating. What? That strawberry blonde hair, and fiery look in your eyes, even as we trained against each other. While I was faster than you, you held greater strength and stamina...we were quite evenly matched. What took us both by surprise was that we were just starting to learn about our magical abilities. And that I can enhance my own abilities with the energies of others. We won many two on two duels that way. And the rest is history as they say...since we're quite close now and you're more or less my assistant now.

I was thirty something when the event leading up to the Black Night started up. Even the appearance of one Merlin was odd and held at spear tip. I luckily got a glimpse of the man...and was present during the interrogations. Once known who was behind this dark magic, several volunteered for the distasteful duty. While Father and Big Brother did not join the excursion, they did assist in other ways. News was likely to slip about this act, among other things. They would do what they can to soften the blow to those that were involved. As well as provide their grounds as a staging point, since we were close to the Shino clan's territory, and even on good terms. The fact that they could be so reckless as to dabble in such dark arts made us immediately hostile towards them. I would assist with the clean up along with yourself. It was as horrific as we thought it would be. But it had to be done, and the time of healing had to start somewhere.

The Lotus was born to prevent such a disaster, and yet it still happened. But it was also as efficient as it could be I suppose. I...was not competant in a lot of things, but delivering messages, providing mounts, delivering supplies, and acting as a fast response unit...both me and you excelled at that work, no matter how boring or sleepy I got when doing it. And before even I knew it, I was the captain of the Blue Lotus. Pretty shocking, right? And I am glad to have you with me to keep me awake to do my duty. About the only reports I like to read anymore is Kanetsugu Nakamura from the Black Lotus. Oh how I long to see the surface beyond what little I'm allowed to see just outside our tunnels. Maybe, just maybe I can be allowed to do a patrol around one of our entry points...why are you laughing? It could happen! Hey!

Only thing I see is Abyssal pulse needs a 1 post cooldown after 10 uses. Once that change is made, Approved. A-4, but if you're willing to expand the history a few paragraphs, I'll go A-5.
