Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Jun Sun Dec 09, 2018 4:46 pm

Beth knocked the assassin away...and right into Rex's reach. The boy swung with his scythe, aiming to take his head. Only for the guy to disappear again, reappearing to Rex's side, aiming to stab him. Only to get both arm and part of his head cut off by Rex's sword in a follow up draw/swing. Walking slightly away from the now dead man, Rex put his sword in front of him, knees bent, and scythe horizontal behind him. Ready to continue. Some just held still, eyes wide. Others more ran. He waited on them.

Mercy got Mira in the arm, but otherwise got thrown off. While she aimed for Mira's leg, Seig swung his sword. The woman moved her leg out of the way, but got her shield arm cut off. One last attack...she put all her energy into her mace, yellow lightning sparking and arcing all over the place. Seig was in a defensive posture. She'll smash through it and at least take one of them with her. She charged him, ready for a final strike in the hope to kill him.

~

Kronos's own bomb bounced off his shield and exploded, flames not even touching him thanks to his shield. Then she came at him. The red head had to duck underneath her shield, and had to go on the defensive. She was reacting much faster now, scratching him on the shoulder on his shield arm and on his forearm on his sword arm, as well as grazing him on his neck and cheek. He dropped his remaining three bombs and jumped back, letting them explode.

Out of the smoke came a grappling hook, latching onto the ground like claws near Kairi's feet. Kronos came out of the smoke faster than before, even if she reacted fast enough to cut the rope on the hook. He aimed to take her head with Carnation, then aimed a jab of his own with his shield. If she didn't cut the rope, Kronos would himself, and go right into an uppercut swing.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Zenke Fri Dec 14, 2018 11:11 pm

Bethany got the woman on the arm and her slash for the leg missed, but Sieg did his job and took off her shield arm. She charged fowards screaming, her mace sparking lightning, hand raised. Bethany lunged after her swinging asi, the blade scything through the air and striking her across the wrist as her arm extended back for the crushing blow, cutting her hand off. There was a crackle of electricity as the mace fell, and Sieg did the rest. Bethany watched Rex finish the job on the assassin at the same time, and when both foes were dead she retrieved Vajra, walking up beside Rex as he stared down the remaining soldiers.

They seemed to hesitate even more now, looking between the Asentari they faced and their captain who was locked in his own fight. "Do you think we can kill them all before Kairi's done? I'm betting we could." She said. The soldiers didn't seem sure how to react, however compared to Sieg, Bethany was still feeling pretty fresh. She walked forward smiling swords spread out. "Come on then, no like the present to die, right?"

***

Vala shrugged. "Fine by me. I won't need it now anyway." She said, smashing her drakna's knuckle guards together. Thassa seemed to loose her shit over their banter, going on about how she was going to correct her mistake. "You sound angry. Fayla she sounds angry. Do you think we're annoying her?" Vala asked, as the soldiers in the room started advancing on them. Vala smirked as the first one suddenly charged and brought her claws raking up under his chin, shearing his throat out. She sidestepped as her charged forward and faceplanted the ground, blood oozing out onto the rock.

Another one swung and she ducked, rising up beside him her claws scrathing, they met chain mail and he spun smiling at her failed attempt to kill him, only to receive a fist to the nose, the blow shattering cartillige and bone. He swung again as he fell back and she ducked, the blade swinging wide and catching a third attacker across the face, shearing his eye out. Vala left him screaming, and moved before she could be surrounded or seperated from Fayla. She moved to block them reaching her friend's flank, a powerful kick to the side of one man's head knocking him over as Vala twisted out of the path of a second soldier's blade, her fists lashing out in a furious series of blows to the man's face. He went down and didn't rise again.

A spear lashed out and tore across her shoulder, and Vala caught the weapon by the shaft. She pulled the man towards him, and using his momentum she turned the spear into one of his comrades before dashing fowards and slashing open his face. She lept an incoming low strike and landed on the man's shoulders. Kicking down she used him as a spring board, flying over Fayla's own path of death and collided with an unawares soldier's face feet first, using him to break her fall.

He hit the ground and she rolled forwards to break her fall, narrowly avoiding incoming blades as someone screamed. "BOB NO!" Vala weaved her way back to Fayla, slashing at hamstrings and exposed throats, or cracking her drak'na's nuckle guards against skulls, killing or maiming as many as she could manage as she linked back up with Fayla. She let her power rise kick in, and prepared for another run at the soldiers.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by GRYMM Wed Dec 19, 2018 6:33 pm

Sieg kept his posture, as the woman suddenly lunged at him ,her mace sparking. Mercy then took that arm off, and in the next second, Sieg raised Balmung over his head, and swung it down, with all his force. He split Mira in half, and he took a few steps back, to not get blood splashed on his face. "Well. that's that then." He said. He moved next to the others, as Mercy started walking towards the soldiers. Siegfried looked over to where Kairi was still fighting Kronos. "We should finish this up quickly. I went overboard there." He said to Rex. He wiped his blade off, removing Mira's blood from it. "I could still fight. But definitely not as well." He looked at Mercy, and said to her, "If you're going to fight, do it quickly. We have places to be, and I doubt these guys will be any fun for you."

(OOC:Sorry bout short post. Not much Sieg can do, since he's exhausted)

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Orgoth Wed Dec 26, 2018 6:49 pm

Kairi's enhanced Agility was making the difference now. She was connecting with blows now as small gashes opened up on Kronos' arms and chest. She dropped low braced her shield when he dropped a trio of the explosive devices. She took the blast on her shield, before she saw a small grappling hook attach to the ground in front of her. Kronos suddenly hurtled towards her out of the smoke left by the explosions. He cut the rope as he reached the hook, and attempted to go for her head.

Kairi ducked the blow and when Kronos attempted a shield strike of his own, she seized the opportunity to end the fight. She sidestepped the jab, moving to the inside, and swung her shield full-force at shield grip, which would force it from his grasp. She then blocked the follow-up swing with her sword, locking her blade against his, before suddenly and violently swinging her sword away from Kronos, attempting to disarm him of his sword as well. She would then aim a straight front kick to his chest to force him back before switching to her spear mode and holding the point to his throat. "I'm going to give you one last chance. Stand down. Now." A ferocious slashing noise caught her attention, and in her eye-line she could see the severed remains of Mira, with Rex, Mercy and a tired-looking Siegfried mopping up what was left of Kronos' troops. It was decision time for Kronos.

***

Fayla found herself back-to-back with Vala again as the remaining troops rallied and encircled them. One of the troops barked at them. "Surrender! There's no escape. We have you surrounded." Fayla chuckled. "Awesome! We can attack in any direction we want!" The man's puzzlement gave way to panic as Fayla ran at him, only to seemingly vanish and reappear above him, sword gleaming in the torchlight. Her blade sank into the man's torso as he let out a distorted scream.

The violence recommenced as Fayla stuck close to Vala as the troops charged at them. She cut down another man with swift strikes, when Thassa emerged from out of nowhere and caught her with a swing from her huge sword. Fayla got her own sword up just in time, but the blow was strong enough to take her off her feet, sending her hurtling through the air and landing hard on the floor across the room. Thassa then turned her attention to Vala, coming at her with a powerful downward swing before following up with a horizontal that took out two of her own men. But it didn't matter to her.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Jun Fri Dec 28, 2018 4:48 pm

When she locked blades and violently swung away, she cut his wrist, and before that had stripped him of his shield. He backpedaled, only to meet a building that was on fire. Weaponless, and a spear at his throat, she was too far away for him to strike at her. He could use his Flash Bang, but then all she would have to do is stab forward, and his throat would be slit. Gritting his teeth, his shoulders slumped. "My fate is yours. Let me live, and I'll sit quietly here. Or you can finish the job." He closed his eyes and waited.

If nothing came or was told what that he would live, he'd do exactly as he said, and just sit down, looking very much like a kicked puppy.

At the defeat of their leader, the rest of them bugged out. Rex put his sword back on his back, and walked to Kronos. "Boy, that doesn't happen often. You gonna be ok, puppy?" He teased the red head and poked his cheek, only to have to swiftly bring it back to avoid getting it chomped off. Giggling, he turned to the rest of them. "Shall we then?" He started to head towards the entrance to the cave.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Zenke Fri Jan 04, 2019 1:47 am

Bethany drove her sword through the throat of the last mercenary, before the rest finally decided enough was enough and they ran away. She turned around to find Kairi standing over Kronos, deciding his fate. In the end, she let the redhead asentari go. Bethany smiled down at him as she picked up her other sword. "Lucky you ended up fighting Kairi. I'd have slit your throat and left you to bleed out." She said before she shrugged. "Oh well, take care firebreather." She continued. Moving over to Kairi and Rex she looked at Seig. "Your not looking so hot, Sieg. Maybe you should keep back and take it easy." She said.

"We should get down there." She said to Kairi. "I doubt those two took their time getting to Thassa, and I don't think we've seen the last of the mercenaries either. They probably need our help.." Bethany said.

***

Vala laughed as Fayla disregarded the man's attempt to make them surrender, before she impaled him. The rest of the men charged and Vala tore into them with clawed strikes and powerful punches that knocked them back, when suddenly a large form emerged and struck Fayla, sending her flying. "Fayla!" She screamed. She spun just in time to find Thassa bearing down on her, and dodged the lethal downward strike. Vala activated Wrath, increasing her strength(+2) and agilty(+1), as Thassa followed up with a horizontal strike. Vala lept up, foot kicking off the blade to fly over Thassa. As she did her hand lashed out in a clawing attack directed for the face, attempting to hook her fingers under the womans helmet in an attempt to rip off thassa's helmet and tear out her eyes at the same time. She soared over Thassa's shoulder and dashed to Fayla, dropping a mercenary attempting to get to Fayla with a boot to the face.

Vala hoisted Fayla to her feet. "Thalbjorn had more honor than you, Thassa. Why don't you call back your men and fight us fair and square.." Vala said, though the men didn't seem keen on falling back as more charged her and fayla relentlessly. Vala punched one square in the chest and sent him flying onto the sword of another behind him. However another replaced him, and when she killed him another appeared in place. Things were not looking good, all of a sudden. Mainly because Thassa had joined her men.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Orgoth Tue Jan 22, 2019 6:47 pm

Kairi studied the young man for a moment as his posture flattened and he became resigned to his defeat. Kairi knew the logical thing to do would be to end Kronos' life there and then. But Kairi and logic often butted heads when it came to life and death. "There will no doubt be more death to come, so I will avoid what little I can. I accept your surrender." She lowered her spear and looked to the rest of the battlefield. Kronos' remaining men had either fled or been dispatched by Siegfried and the others. Speaking of which, she looked to her teammate to find that he had made it through mostly unscathed, but he was severely depleted in energy. Mercy and Rex were also intact, and the female Asentari approached her now, mocking Kronos.

Kairi looked to Siegfried as she cleaned the blood from her blade. "I agree. You should stay behind. No doubt a lot of the remaining forces will have been drawn back inside if Fayla and Vala have reached Thassa." She gestured to Kronos, who had taken a seat on the ground, looking very sullen indeed. "Guard Kronos. Make sure he doesn't escape. We'll come back for you both at the end." Mercy pointed out that time was of the essence. Kairi nodded in agreement and mounted her shield on her back. "Indeed. Let's move on. Hopefully the other two are not in too much trouble."

***

Thassa roared as her attacks missed, and she turned her head just in time to deflect the attempt at violently removing her helmet. Did you really think it would be that easy?!, she thought as she turned to see Vala running to aid her Eldari friend. Hmph, pathetic. She waited until the two runts turned to face her. She would crush them together.

Fayla winced as Vala hoisted her to her feet. "Yup, it's just how I remember it." She had no time to gather herself, however, as more men rushed them as Thassa watched from afar. Fayla tapped Vala on the arm to let her know she was ready, and waited for the onslaught. Vala repelled the first lackey to try his luck, and Fayla impaled another with rapid speed. The pain was subsiding as she filled her lungs with air and her veins with adrenaline. The man she impaled fell to the floor and was also replaced immediately.

Fayla looked around, and decided to up the ante. They needed to get to Thassa, and the longer they took to do that, the worse it might become.

Fayla activated her Stone Elemental Blade ability as she swung at the nearest goon. He wasn't prepared for the increased impact, and she crushed his block. She rapidly spun and decapitated him, turning just in time to block a strike from someone else. Using leverage and the increased weight of her weapon, she overpowered the woman and swept her weapon to the side, then ran her through the chest. She kicked the woman's corpse from her blade and cried out suddenly when she was struck from behind. A gash appeared across her back, but she had avoided critical damage. Enraged, Fayla lost all restraint and began simply wailing on anyone in range. The bulk of her weapon combined with her speed meant she cut down three more combatants with ultra-violent strikes before her rage subsided. They were making headway, but that hope was extinguished when she saw another group of Thassa's troops entering the hall.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Jun Tue Jan 22, 2019 10:09 pm

Kronos glared at Kairi at the suggestion that he'd run after surrendering, but stayed silent. The large man did seem out of breath. Even Rex kind of frowned at the suggestion, but like his rival, stayed quiet.

The blond was already at the entrance, waiting for the two women. Upon entering, he put up his hood, making him even more difficult to see in his dark clothes inside the cavern. With his weapons likewise being pretty dark, he was well within his element as an assassin.

Throughout the passages, there were plenty of good ambush points and places for traps, but nothing. "Seems pretty clear that Kronos got overridden on defense preparations. He'd have taken advantage of these a lot more..." He heard faint sounds of fighting ahead. They were close...

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Zenke Tue Jan 22, 2019 10:52 pm

Vala flowed like water around Fayla, blocking her back, ripping the faces off anyone who tried to come at them. They moved like a well oiled machine, working together to fight back the enchroaching tide of foes. When Fayla was hit across the back and began lashing out, Vala joined her, tearing into anyone nearby like a demon, killing and maiming wildly. But even so, Vala was covered in cuts and grazes, the volume of foes slowly overwhelming them, and more had just entered.

***

Bethany rushed down the tunnel. Rex mentioned how Kronos was probably not giving the orders, since the tunnel was so empty. Bethany nodded. "Or they ran away." She said, as the faint sounds of fighting started to reach them. Bethany grinned. "Sound's like the girls are having fun. I wan't in on that!" She said, and charged forward. Bethany reached the door and kicked it open, looking into the room, which was full of soldiers. Near the centre, she spotted a huge woman and two smaller shapes surrounded by soliders. She watched them tear the soldiers appart, even as more burst in through a different tunnel.

Bethany moved foreward and inhaled, her throat glowing a golden red as she did. She stopped and let out a massive Torrent off fire into the mass of fighting foes, with a faint hope that the two girls noticed and moved or had a way to protect themselves.

***

Vala was starting to worry a little bit, as the fresh soldiers joined the fray, until the door at the back other end of the room burst open and Kairi, Rex and Bethany appeared. She noticed first that Bethany and Rex were covered in blood, but kairi seemed a bit cleaner. Vala had no doubt that she'd been fighting though. She then noticed Bethany charge forward, throat glowing red. "Oh..." She was aimed directly into the mass of soldiers, at Thassa, and them. A blaze of fire was unleashed from her mouth, beautiful and deadly. Vala would have been impressed if she wasn't about to be cooked alive. "Shit!" She shouted, turning and tackling Fayla into the ground before activating her barrier.

Flames ripped through the crowd, and at somepoint Vala's shield shattered, but the sheer mass of bodies between fayla, Vala and Bethany meant that Vala was mostly unscathe. Fayla seemed perfectly fine, if possibly a bit confused. Standing up, she reached down to help Fayla up again and looked around, as confused soldiers tried to orientate themselves. Atleast the ones who had survived the flames and weren't charbroiled in their armor.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Orgoth Thu Jan 24, 2019 10:30 pm

Kairi said nothing as the trio of fighters ran through a maze of corridors. Mercy and Rex briefly discussed the lack of traps or ambushes, but Kairi was focused instead on the lack of soldiers throughout the complex. They had dispatched a reasonably large number on the surface, but she had still expected heavier resistance than they were currently experiencing. She only hoped Vala and Fayla were holding their own.

They broke suddenly into a large hall, and the reason for the lack of soldiers became clear. A large form stood at the head of the room, and it was unmistakably Thassa. Kairi saw two people fighting desperately in the corner of the room, surrounded by at least a dozen soldiers. Mercy reacted the quickest, bathing the area in flames. Kairi was stunned, sure that Fayla and Vala had just been burned alive. She exhaled when she saw them moving, and the enemy density had decreased substantially. Neither of them looked in peak health though, so Kairi gave out orders quickly. "Quickly, we have to get to them!" She took a step before hearing a shouting in the hall behind her. Another unit of soldiers was coming down the tunnel the way Mercy and the others had come. Kairi made a decision quickly. "Keep going! I'll hold the reinforcements off as long as I can!" Kairi waited for the first wave to show themselves, before activating Bastion's enchantment. A barrier blocked the mouth of the tunnel, and stopped the men from coming through. It would only hold for a short while, but it would give Kairi the chance to set herself properly for what would come next.

***

Thassa grinned smugly as her troops' sheer numbers began to extract a toll on her most hated foes. She had never encountered a more infuriating and meddlesome pair as these two runts. One of them, the Heanta, barked a challange at her using Thalbjorn to try and goad her. "Thalbjorn was a fool, always putting honor before the big picture. I am not about to make the same mistake, runt." Thassa's enjoyment was cut short as a second party emerged from the main tunnel. The red-headed one immediately used a breath attack to roast most of her troops. An Asentari. Thassa's rage grew even more when one of them blocked the tunnel with some kind of barrier. She hefted her weapon and activated her Rage ability, giving her a +2 to Strength. She eyed all of her targets and weighed up which one to smash first.

***

Fayla got to her feet and scanned the wreckage around them. A large number of foes had bitten the dust, and she saw Kairi, Mercy and Rex standing by the main tunnel. Kairi barked a few orders, then ran to the tunnel and sealed it. Siegfried was conspicuous by his absence, but non of the others seemed too shook up, so she put the worry out of her mind at once. She nodded in gratitude to Vala before once again fixing her gaze on Thassa. Her pain receptors indicated the damage she had received already, but now that the others were here it was a bit less hopeless.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Kairi gave orders and sprung into action. Rex didn't react right away and just sighed. He could stop them with a single attack. Still, he went to put a damper on the lights some. Just enough to make it dance it shadows, but not enough to make it pitch black. It made him incredibly hard to see with his hood up. And used all his stealth skills to get the jump on two of the remaining men, decapitating them.

He slowly moved his way to behind Thassa. And aimed a single strike to the heels, to cut off both feet. Normally, he'd go for the head, but that was an honor for Vala and/or Fayla.

~

Kronos was laying down, watching the clouds and the sun, even as the buildings around them burned to the ground and carried some smoke into his view. "I heard about you, you know. I wonder what Rex will do with you after this. Why did you suddenly leave without notice or anything anyways?" He spoke to Seig, because it was boring to wait for Thassa's now inevitable defeat.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Sieg had his eyes closed, breathing steadily. Now that he wasn't fighting, his wounds stung, but he ignored them for now. All the time to heal up after this He thought. Kronos had laid down, and Sieg still had his eye on him, but he figured that if he hadn't moved since Sieg was resting, he wasn't going to at all. Kronos then asked Sieg why he left, slightly shocking the Asentari. "Mmm. I guess I can give you an answer." He crossed his arms. "It was mostly to see what was outside of our home. I don't hate it there, but you see the same sights over, and over again, and you get bored, I suppose. Nothing more, nothing less."

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Zenke Wed Feb 20, 2019 9:57 pm

In the aftermath of Mercy's attack, Vala seen Kairi block the tunnel they'd come down and stop the flow of reinforments. Rex jumped into the frey and began cleaving heads from shoulders, and Vala watched Thassa's face twist with rage as she looked around dumbfounded. Vala took the oppurtunity to attack her in her confusion, dashing forward at the same time as Rex went for Thassa's back.

And then there was a blast that shook the cavern, and the door behind Thassa's door exploded inwards. A black haze snaked into the room, intercepting Rex's scythe, a poleaxe forming from the blackness. The haze died back to reveal a male heanta similar to Rex's size who locked eyes with the Asentari silently. "Well well, I see we've crashed the party." said a second heanta who entered the room after the male Heanta. Vala tilted her head in surprise as Saivene Marin stepped into the fray.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 B66c7f10

***

Bethany began mopping up the remaining soldiers when the door and throne exploded into wood splinters, and someone came into the room. The soldiers around stopped attacking at the sound of the blast and watched as a pair of heanta came into the room. Bethany glanced towards Rex, who'd been blocked by one of the heanta, then to Kairi and Vala, unsure what to do next. The look on Vala's face however, told Bethany she recognized the female.

***

Vala stared, a little dumbstruck as she watched Saivene walked across the scorched Dais towards them. "Saivene?" Vala questioned. Saivene looked towards Vala and smiled. "Valatrix. Good your still alive. I'm so pleased." She said. Vala frowned. "I'm pleased to see you too? Why are you here?" Vala asked her. Saivene drew her sword as she took another step towards them. "Pure coincidence I assure you. I came to kill Thassa." Saivene said. "Thassa has failed me once to often, that I decided it was time to punish her." Saivene stared at Thassa, assessing her as heanta often did their prey.

Where Vala had been wary about Saivene's Arrival, a cold dread swept over her as Saivene turned that predatory gaze towards her. "Well Thassa, its your lucky day. I mean, all of your men are practically dead, but I suppose Vala's presence here means you haven't failed me quite yet." Saivene said, starring at Vala. "You... You sent her after me?" Vala asked, and Saivene clapped. "Finally figured it out I see. I see horns aren't the only thing you lack, Shrimp." Saivene said.

"Thassa kill the Eldari and the rest of this rabble, and I'll triple your payment. Kane, help her." The fighting continued as Saivene dashed forward towards Vala, knocking her backwards with a kick to the ribs. Vala rolled and recovered, barely dodging Saivene's blade as it came sweeping for her neck. "Why? I thought we were freinds?" Vala said as she dodged another strike. "Freinds? How naive. I have always hated you. Special little Vala, never had to work a day in your life for your status!" Saivene screamed, throwing out a blast of energy towards Vala. She rolled to the side as it exploded, and was thrown onto her back.

Saivene was above her in an instant, blade angled to strike her throat. "This was too easy. I thought you'd put up more of a fight!" Saivene's blade started to move as a beam of fire hit her from the side and sent her flying across the room. She slammed into the wall next to Kairi, and slid to the ground. "You are one spoiled jealous child." Mercy said as she stepped up beside Vala. "You alright Squirt?" She asked and Vala nodded. "Good. Fayla needs you. I'll keep this bitch preocupied." She said, and pulled Vala to her feet, pushing her towards Thassa.

***

Bethany walked towards the heanta that was slumped on the ground. "Get up, I know your not dead." Bethany said. The female stirred, pushing herself to her feet. "You fire breathing whore, you're going to regret that." she said as she steaded herself against the wall. Her side was badly charred where the beam struck, but she was already starting to heal. "I regret allot of things about my life, but that is not one of them." Bethany said, drawing her swords. "We will see."

Bethany shrugged and dashed forward, slashing with Asi. The heanta dodged the blade and struck back in one fluid motion. Bethany blocked it with Vajra and pushed the heanta's blade aside, driving Vajra forward towards the heanta's gut. The heanta twisted from its path, and both parties traded blows for a few more seconds. Bethany seen an opening on the heanta's side and slashed, realising to late that it was a trick as the female moved foreward, and to the side, her blade slashing across Bethany's upper leg.

Bethany staggered and Saivene kicked her in the back of the knee, buckling it. Bethany barely managed to roll forward as the heanta slashed for her throat. "You can't see it yet, but your already dead." She said as Bethany stood back up.

***

Kane had his poleaxe locked with the young asentari, and when Saivene gave the order he pushed back, breaking the lock and swept the poleaxe low towards the Asentari's legs. He met the asentari's gaze and nodded, the pole axe's head leveled towards the asentari. "I will be your opponant Asentari. The name is Kane. I would like to know your name, so I can remember you should you fall to my blade today." Kane said formally, his voice devoid of emotion. A soldier charged at Rex from the side, and Kane's poleaxe lashed out, taking his leg off at the Knee. He killed the man in one quick strike to the head, and leveled a look towards any remaining soldiers that said, do not approach.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Orgoth Fri Feb 22, 2019 5:54 pm

Kairi looked over her shoulder as she heard a roar of fury from Thassa. The Dying Suns leader looked absolutely livid, pumped and ready to go twelve rounds with a Kishin Dola. Kairi weighed up her options. She was the only one who could come close to matching strength with Thassa now that Siegfried was out of action. She studied the tunnel she was blocking. She had maybe another thirty seconds before Bastion's barrier was breached, and the new plan came to her in a quarter of that time. She used her shield to smash the two supports that helped to prevent a cave-in. She then switched Starlight to spear mode, and jammed the head of hit as hard as she could into the ceiling rock. Using the leverage from the longer handle, Kairi heaved and collapsed the ceiling, switching her weapon back to sword mode and rolling out of the way to avoid getting hit herself. She only hoped she hadn't crushed too many people. She turned to see what was happening next.

~~~
Thassa watched one of the new wretches zip around the room, killing a couple more men and extinguishing a couple of torches. She looked from the Eldari and Heanta runts and back, just in time to see the hooded brat come at her low, going for her feet. She wouldn't have seen him only for the glint of a surviving torch on his weapon. She was about to bring her weapon down hard on him as he came through, but then an explosion went off behind her throne, shattering it. She saw Saivene enter, and spun to see Kane blocking the runt who went for her legs.
~~~

Fayla saw Vala go for Thassa. She went to join her, but a sudden pain stopped her. The damage must have been worse than she thought. That's no fun, she thought. An explosion went off, destroying Thassa's throne. A Heanta stepped out, and another person materialized in front of Rex, blocking his attack. Vala recognized the Heanta, a woman called Saivene. Thassa suddenly looked uneasy at the newcomer's presence, which struck Fayla as odd. She soon found out why. Vala had treated her as a friend, but to her horror she discovered that she was actually responsible for Thassa trying to kill Vala. Fayla rose to her feet. She had recovered her wind enough, and she slowly approached Vala and Saivene.

~~~
Thassa stared at Saivene as she spoke, and was slowly becoming angrier at being humiliated like this. She would like nothing more than to crush the smug wretch, but she had a contract. Then Saivene revealed her true intentions, and Thassa grinned evilly when the Heanta offered triple pay if she dispatched of the other runts. She turned to Kane, who was engaging Rex. The Eldari was injured, and hopefully in a lot of pain. The death of Vala would have been a lot easier without her constant meddling. She set her sights on the Fayla first, for being the most annoying.
~~~

Fayla could do little as Saivene suddenly attacked Vala after revealing her true purpose. She sent Vala flying with a straight kick. Saivene began to assail Vala, so Fayla hefted her sword and ran to help her friend. Thassa was suddenly in front of her, and she was body-checked out of the way violently. She hit the floor hard, her weapon flying out of her hand and skittering across the floor. She looked up to see Vala being knocked onto her back, and Saivene coming at her with what would be a fatal strike. Fayla screamed in pain and horror. "NO!!!"

~~~
Kairi regained her feet and assessed the situation. She wanted to help her allies, but the fight had degenerated into separate struggles, and she was caught by indecision. Rex looked like the least in danger for now, which left Fayla and Vala. But she looked in shock as she saw what was about to happen. The newcomer, Saivene, was about to kill Vala, while Thassa was standing over a fallen Fayla who was screaming in pain and fear. She froze as she realized that she couldn't get to them both at once.
But suddenly Saivene was hit with a fire blast by Bethany. Where had she come from? There was no time for questions as Saivene slammed into the wall nearby. Bethany checked on Vala and then engaged Saivene. Kairi was about to go and aid Fayla when she was confronted by a handful of surviving soldiers. Their escape was cut off, so they were ready to fight to the death. She bowed her head in regret before engaging them. She turned and saw Bethany catch a hit on the leg, but then caught Thassa out of the corner of her eye and she shouted in shock. "Fayla!" She tried to run, but the men stopped her from advancing, and she could only watch.
~~~

Fayla let out a sigh of relief as Bethany knocked Saivene away and began to fight her. She stood up slowly and coughed up a bit of blood. Her symptoms were that of internal bleeding, meaning her combat readiness was quickly ebbing away. She recalled her sword to her hand and rushed Thassa, because she was a bonehead. A brave bonehead, but a bonehead nonetheless.

Thassa simply caught her blade with her free hand. Had Fayla been at full strength, she might have lost a hand. However, it was quite obvious that she was not. Thassa then used the pommel of her own blade to smash Fayla straight in the gut. Fayla let out a distorted yelp of pain as the wind left her body again and she lost the grip on her sword. Thassa cast the blade away and stepped towards her fallen foe. "Finally. I can rid the world of your wretched existence. I'm going to enjoy this far more than I should." Thassa reached down and grabbed Fayla by the throat and lifted her off the ground. Fayla's vision blurred as her air supply was cut off. All she could do was gasp."Farewell, you little cunt." Thassa raised her sword and prepared to send it through the gut of her Eldari nemesis.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Jun Wed Feb 27, 2019 8:42 pm

An explosion from a different tunnel, and Rex's scythe got locked with a pole axe. He got pushed back, and went into a backflip to avoid the sweep at his legs, and used his scythe to pole-vault further away. He held his dark weapon out in front of him and listened. Well, shit. This was bad. Still, he grinned at the heanta named Kane. "Interesting. We'll see who falls by whose blade. The name is Rex von Broven."

A quick decapitation wasn't going to happen. Now that he knew, and even with the dimmed light...he swung his scythe, detaching into several sections for a ranged slice to the thigh. Retracting it, he moved the left, and slashed at the arm with the reconnected weapon. If blocked, he'd do a small twist, and flatten out the last section into a blade, and try to cut off a foot with a simple twist and mini-swing. Backing off, he did a swipe at the gut, then a stab with the other hand at the thigh. A twirl allowed him to go into a chop at the arm again.

~

Kronos waited, and his eyebrows furrowed. This was taking too long. "This is taking too long. They should have finished her off by now. If we pace ourselves, think you'll be up to snuff to fight at least a little bit? I get the feeling we got some uninvited guests that I don't think any of us want right now." Jumping up, he walked over to where his shield and sword was. Picking them up, he spoke again. "Don't worry, I won't fight you guys anymore. Likewise, I won't fight Thassa either. But if my hunch is right, I'll see what I can do." He started towards the tunnels at a leisurely pace.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Zenke Fri Mar 01, 2019 11:26 am

Vala was dazed by the sudden assault she'd been submitted to. She glanced around the cavern that had turned to a battlefield, seen Bethany fighting against Saivene, Kairi surrounded by the remnant of the soldiers. Rex was against a Heanta she'd never seen before and they seemed evenly matched. Fayla however, was along against Thassa, and it dawned on Vala just how in over her head Fayla was as she charged.

"Fayla!" She shouted almost in time with Kairi, as Thassa grabbed her blade and smashed her best friend in the gut with a blow that bent her over in pain. Vala's eyes lit with rage as she broke into a charge. Steel flashed as a soldier intercepted her, the blade of a dagger slicing across her ribs. She barely registered the wound and didn't slow as she struck with a wicked backhand that shattered his jaw and sent him reeling away. Vala screamed in rage as Thassa got Fayla by the throat and drew back her sword to impale her.

A few more steps and then Vala lept through the air, slamming into Thassa's back and knocking Fayla loose. She let the bloodlust take her, and as she wrapped her legs under the brute's armpit she rained down rapid blows on Thassa's head. "I'M GOING TO RIP OUT YOUR HEART AND FEAST ON IT YOU FAT WHORE!" She screamed as she smashed loose Thassa's helmet, and drew back her fist to strike her with her explosive punch that would easily crush her skull.

***

Saivene lunged at her and Bethany parried the blade aside, driving her gladius towards her gut. Saivene spun, the blade barely touching her and lashed out with her other hand, heanta claws ripping through Bethany's cloak and across her skin. Saivene laughed and Bethany grunted. "I thought you were going to handle me. But here I am cutting you to ribbons." She mocked. "Do you ever shut the fuck up?" Bethany retorted and dashed forward, a double thrust. Saivene dodged aside and slashed for the back of Bethany's knee. She barely blocked it, knocking the blade upward.

Bethany staggered back and Saivene pushed the advantage. "Weak!" She said as she came at Bethany with a barrage of slashes that Bethany barely managed to defend against. She gave up on defending, letting the blade hit in the shoulder, cutting her as she lunged forward trying to run Saivene through. Her strike connected, hitting the bone of Saivene's hip before turning away. Saivene snarled and leaped back. Bethany threw Vajra, striking Saivene's arm and she dropped her sword.

"Bitch!" In response, a ball of crackling energy formed in Saivene's hands and she threw it. She had barely a thought to respond, but managed to activate her Stone armor before she was hit head on and blasted backwards. Bethany ragdolled across the cavern and slammed into the ground, winded. Only for her armor, she had a feeling she might be paste right then.

Saivene didn't waste any time and was across the room and on top of her, claws extended. "Is it wrong that I'm a little turned on right now?" Bethany mused, causing Saivene to scream in rage. Bethany threw her arms up to cover her face as Saivene screamed at her, "I will flay the skin from your bones!" She began slashing violently at Bethany, ripping away cloth as she struck again and again.

And then she paused, a puzzled look on her face as she stared at the scales of Bethany's forearms. "What's wrong, your claws not sharp enough to get through dragonskin?" Bethany smirked. Then she grabbed Saivene by the said of the head and rolled sideways, slamming the Heanta's head into the stone floor with a crack.

***

The Asentari introduced himself and Kane nodded. Then the asentari attacked, his scythe breaking into pieces and swinging for the leg. Kane spun his pale axe and batted the weapon’s head away. Rex retracted it and attacked again, and Kane caught the scythe handle with the head of the poleaxe. The asentari  thought quick and twisted, the blade straightened out, and he swung for the feet.

Kane’s body turned smokey and the scythe passed through his legs harmlessly. Then his form became solid again as he moved forward, twisting to the side as the boy slashed. Kane’s poleaxe snapped out in response aiming for the arm with the heavy blade. The asentari thrust with his sword(?) but Kane stepped back out of reach of the blade, and blocked the scythe as it came in at his arm.

He was impressed, though his face was impassive as he stepped forward, thrusting the poleaxe towards Rex’s gut to wind him. He spun the weapon, a sweep of the handle aimed to the feet for a trip and followed it up with a downward chop to strike the shoulder, or if Rex had fallen, the chest.

***

Bethany released the heanta and extracted herself from under Saivene’s limp legs. She scooped up Asi and turned to drive the weapon into Saivene’s chest for good measure, to find the heanta’s purple eyes glaring at her. Saivene moved, rising from the ground and striking like a viper, her claws slashing across Bethany’s face. Blood splashed across the ground. Pain blossomed in her face as her vision suddenly went black and Bethany screamed in agony, hand rising to her face to cradle her ruined eye.

Saivene smirked. "Oh, did I get your eye? Sorry about that." She said as Bethany cradled her face in shock, blood streaming down it. ”What's wrong? Where's all that sass gone? Oh well, time for you to die." She said, a blade of dark energy forming in her hand as she plunged it towards Bethany.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Orgoth Sat Mar 02, 2019 5:27 pm

As Thassa stumbled forward from the sudden impact from behind, she almost laughed. Maybe it was fate that dictated that she would never truly get her revenge on the two brats that decided to make her life a living hell. Sure, she had tried to kill the Heanta. But she was to be paid handsomely for it, at a time when her Dying Suns were exactly that, dying. Did that make her a bad person? Perhaps, but surely she didn't deserve this. Even as the whelp jumped onto her and began to wail on her head until her helmet came loose, Thassa thought that none of it was fair. So she would do something about it.

The Heanta took aim at Thassa's exposed head, with energy charging up in her fist. But it wouldn't be that easy. Thassa suddenly swung her hand back and grabbed Vala's leading arm, before hauling her off with desperate strength and tossing her away. She created some separation between herself and her two victims, and let out a roar of rage. Her Enhanced Battle Mode activated, surrounding her in a blood-red aura. She then used her Unrelenting Force to increase her Strength and Durability by 2. They were in the endgame now.

***

Fayla closed her eyes, and a single tear rolled down her cheek as she resigned herself to her fate. But it was not over. She heard Vala's cry of rage before Thassa suddenly released her from her grasp. Fayla dropped to the ground, landing on her feet, suddenly alert. She recalled her sword to her hand, as Thassa tried to deal with Vala, who had mounted her and was now raining blows down on Thassa's head. She watched as Vala was dislodged from her perch, having knocked Thassa's helmet off. As Thassa jumped backwards, Fayla ran over to Vala and assessed things as she helped her friend up.

"I owe you. But I think you might've pissed her off some more." This was confirmed when Thassa let out a roar and began to glow red. Fayla wiped blood from her mouth and chanced a look around the room to gauge the situation. The battle had devolved into multiple scuffles. Rex was now fighting a male Heanta, while Bethany was fighting with Saivene and Kairi was dealing with some troops. She returned her gaze to Thassa, who eyed them with the gaze of a madman. "What's the plan now?"

***

Kairi exhaled as Vala rescued Fayla from Thassa's clutches. She ran a man through with her sword and then swiftly began to deal with the others who were stopping her. She then saw Bethany land in a heap nearby. Saivene pounced on her and clawed, but Bethany's Dragon Skin was protecting her. Bethany smashed Saivene's head into the ground, and went to administer the killing blow. Kairi dispatched the last man with an pommel strike, before she saw Bethany fall to the ground, blood splashing from her eye. Kairi made up her mind in an instant as Saivene went to strike Bethany while she was dealing with her maimed eye.

Kairi rushed forward, hurling her shield like a discus, aiming form the side of Saivene's head. If it connected, Kairi would follow it up with a full-force tackle, attempting to create as much distance between Saivene and Bethany as possible by smashing her with brute strength. If it missed or was deflected, Kairi would transform Starlight into spear mode and lead with a running thrust before attempting to blind her with her Solar Flare. In either case, Kairi would then rush to Bethany and assess the situation, keeping an eye on Saivene.

His attacks got dealt with expertly, and the man had used an ability to turn into fog briefly. That was going to get annoying really fast. He had to side step a thrust, and an improvised hop over the swing for the legs. Though that also made his footing dodgy, forcing him to a knee when he put up his scythe to block the overhead chop. He deflected it to his right side, and aimed a swing for the head, following it up with a sword draw with his right hand, to cut the man from about the upper part of the bicep horizontally, getting up and charging in the process.

He would then stab at the gut with the flattened part of the scythe. He hoped someone would finish up their fight soon, or if Kronos would investigate quickly and assist them against the heanta.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Before she could strike Thassa and splatter her brain matter across the cavern, the large woman grabbed her and threw her off. Vala twisted in mid air and landed mostly on her feet, though her knee buckled and she ended up half on the ground. Fayla came rushing over to see to her and when she seen that Fayla was alive and ok she let out a breath. Fayla mentioned she'd made Thassa mad, and Vala snarled. "Good, It'll make killing her more fun!"

Energy rippled across Vala's body as stood up. She still had her explosive strike, but she needed Fayla's help to deliver it. "Besides, I got her helmet off. So now we just need to hit her in the head, really hard." She said. "Let's do the thing." Vala said, and charged forward towards Thassa. She slid past Thassa's leg to distract her as Fayla set up for her move, pretending to go for the back of the knee. She never struck though, instead dashing around, waiting for Fayla to use her strike slash, and as she did Vala would jump, planting her foot into Fayla's palm.

If everything went right, Fayla would launch Vala into the air, allowing her to come dropping down on Thassa's head to smash her skull in with her explosive strike, which she tried to deliver with a chop kick.

***

Saivene was about to drive her dark blade through the fire bitch's chest when something flashed in her eyes. She ducked just in time to avoid being hit in the face with a disk of sometime, and noticed a woman almost rivaling Thassa's bulk charging towards her with a spear. "Give me a fucking break!" She snapped, dodging to the side. "Every time I try to kill somebody, some bitch-" Saivene was suddenly blinded by a flash of light. "Fuck!" She snarled. She lept back, as she tried to regain her sight.

***

Just when she thought she was dead, a shield flew past Saivene's head and Kairi was there, charging the heanta. Saivene avoided it, but not the flash of light that blinded her and sent her scampering away. Kairi rushed back to Bethany to check on her. "I'm Fine. Its just a flesh wound." She said, breathing heavily. "I just need a minute. Don't turn your back on her, she's far more dangerous than she looks." Despite her attempt to appear tough, if Kairi pulled her hand away to get a better look she would see allot of blood and three nasty gaughes from the side of her face over to her nose, across her eye.

***

The asentari deflected his attacks, took a slash at his head that Kane ducked, and drew a longsword from his back, slashing Kane across the arm. He twisted away, taking only a light cut. Rex tried to stab at his gut with the scythe, and Kane deflected the weapon away a spin of his pole Axe. He used the momentum of the spin to swing the axe toward's Rex's gut and followed up with a twirl and swooping motion, hacking down across towards the other shoulder weilding the longsword. Should Rex block, he would try to twist the weapon enough and drive it forwards so it the blunt part of the axe head would strike Rex in the shoulder or chest and push him back.

Eitherway he followed his attack up with a haze of smoke that shot outwards from his feet and suddenly lunged up at Rex from the ground. The haze became four tendrils that would attempt to wrap around him, one aiming for each limb, and ristrict his movement for just a moment. A moment was all he needed as he launched forward and tried to take the Asentari's head off his shoulders.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Orgoth Mon Mar 04, 2019 8:24 pm

Kairi managed to successfully blind Saivene for a moment as she began to rant about people constantly getting in the way of her job. Kairi looked down to Bethany, surveying the wounds. "Bethany..." But before he could finish, Bethany interrupted her by protesting that she was fine. Kairi gently pulled Bethany's hand away from her face and saw the full extent of the injuries. She put a hand on the Asentari's shoulder. "Take a breather. You've done enough." Kairi then turned back to Saivene, whose vision should be nearly recovered by that point. "My name is Kairi Thorne." She spun her spear and then pointed it at the Heanta, keeping Bethany behind her. "I will be your opponent now."

***

Fayla smiled as Vala's bravado came out again. She nodded, bolstered by the strength and courage of her best friend. She took a deep breath and let her adrenaline drown out her pain. Vala called for one of their combination maneuvers, and Fayla nodded in agreement. They had fought together for so long that their chemistry and understanding had become their most potent weapon as a tandem. This particular move was one they had devised recently, but they had managed to perfect it before the mission today.

Thassa widened her stance and prepared as the Heanta drove forwards, sliding low and aiming for the back of her knee. The large Human turned to deal with it, only to find that Vala hadn't actually struck. She realized what had happened, when she saw the Eldari coming at her out of the corner of her eye. Fayla moved to strike, but just as Thassa swung her weapon around to try and cleave her in two, Vala got there first and the two shot upwards.

Fayla's Strike-Slash launched her upwards as normal, but Vala had jumped onto Fayla's hand and the Eldari essentially gave the Heanta a speed-boosted leg-up. Thassa was too slow to react to the punch fully, but as she turned she raised her left arm up and Vala's Explosive Strike impacted her arm. The force shattered the armor protecting Thassa's left arm, and inflicted significant damage on the limb. While the Human recoiled from the blow, Fayla followed up with the second part of her Strike-Slash, bringing her blade downwards on the stunned Dying Suns leader. Her blade sliced cleanly through the now-unprotected left arm, severing it halfway up the forearm. Fayla then jumped back to where Vala had landed as Thassa let out a howl of pain.

***

Kairi decided to go on the offensive, rather than drawing out this fight and risking mounting injuries. She charged forward and assailed Saivene with a trio of thrusts, one for each leg and one for the body, before leaping backwards and activating her Wall of Swords. A field of ten energy swords appeared in front of Kairi, and sped towards Saivene. The field was 10 ft in diameter and traveled in a straight line until they hit the wall behind Saivene. A howl of pain drew Kairi's attention for a second, as she spotted Fayla and Vala regaining the advantage against their foe.

***

Thassa seethed as she cradled the stump where her hand and lower forearm used to be. She locked eyes with her foes and suddenly charged at them. She hefted her sword in her right hand and swung horizontally, attempting to hit the both with one swing. Hit or miss, Thassa then activated her Dark Echoes ability. Her blade began to radiate a dark aura, and she began swinging vertically downwards. She did this three times in quick succession, allowing her weapon to hit the ground each time, hit or miss. A split second after each impact though, a small explosion went off, centered on the point of impact. The explosions had a 5ft radius, though Thassa herself was unaffected, and each inflicted Average damage and packed a fairly strong knockback.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

He blocked the axe at the gut with the same weapon he deflected, though both of them twirled their weapons, forcing Rex's away and out of position for him to do anything with it, the axe came on down towards his shoulder on his sword arm. He met axe with long sword. Only for to be driven forward and nearly get knocked on his ass by the jab in the chest. And then getting caught by that damn haze. Only an idiot wouldn't know what was coming.

Rex's throat glowed blue as he opened his mouth and fired off his lightning dragon's breath attack. Hopefully stalling Kane long enough for Rex to free himself and aim a parting swing to the guy's leg as he moved to the right. He slashed with his scythe again, downward towards the shoulder. If blocked or avoided, he slashed with the sword horizontally at the gut.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Zenke Mon Mar 11, 2019 10:00 am

Thassa did her best to keep up but had no idea what the hell was happening as they pulled off their menouver. Vala sailed through the air and slammed down on the big woman's arm, shattering her armor and hopefully crippling her arm. As she backflipped out of the way she seen Fayla fly in and slice through Thassa's arm, severing it at the elbow. Well, if it was crippled, it didn't matter anymore. Vala landed in a crouch, and looked up. Fayla didn't say it, so as Thassa's arm dropped to the ground and she howled in pain, Vala smirked. "Looks like, you've been disarmed!" She said, putting as much perkiness into the comment as possible.

Thassa wasn't done that easily however, as she suddenly swung. Vala rolled under the horizonal sweep and noticed the blade suddenly glowing with dark energy. She swung straight down on Vala, who side stepped the blade. As she backed off, watching the woman strike twice more, there was a loud boom and she was suddenly lifted off her feet, and sent flying. She smashed into the ground with a concerning crack, rolled and somehow flipped onto her feet, sliding backwards to a stop on her hands and knees. She winced as she stood up. "Fuck. Thats a rib." She muttered. Even with her pain treshold, she was starting to notice the damage building up. The would have to end this soon.

***

Kane had him where he wanded, but noticed as he came in to take off Rex's head, that his throat was glowing. a blast of lightning was suddenly unleashed. Kane's body turned to a smokey haze however, he was still hit. He was thrown back, solid, and twitching from the electrical blast. He quitely chastised himself for falling for such a trap. He stood up, an almost sheepish look on his face for a second before he said, "I was not aware my powers were effected by lightning." He said. Rex didn't waste any time attacking, coming in with a strike to the leg.

Kane blocked low and knocked the scythe away, but Rex came down at the shoulder. He stepped to the side and blocked the longsword as it came in, then pushed back and swept the head of his weapon low, attempting to hook it around Rex's heel and pull his leg from under him. He was aware of how often he'd attempted to trip Rex at this point, and followed it up with a kick to the chest should he miss. He followed up with a spinning strike of his axe, aimed at Rex's hand to try and get rid of his pesky longsword. He let the momentum of the blade carry the backend up of the weapon around to strike at Rex's head.

***

Saivine's vision slowly came back. The new fighter had gone to see to her friend, so Saivene took a moment to pick up her weapon. The woman turned to her and told her she would be her opponant now. When she introduced herself, Saivene smiled broadly. The woman attacked and Saivene expertly dodged each stab, parrying the last thrust away. She followed it up with a wall of swords. Saivene threw up a barrier of dark energy around her, and walked foreward, the swords deflecting off the energy. She stopped right infront of Kairi and drooped the shield. "Well well well, isn't this an honor. The redfang whore is going to fight me." She said. "Oh yes, Kairi Thorne. I know who you are. I've heard all about your exploits in the freelands. Quite the legend. Bit dull in bed though, I hear. She said, smiling with superiority.

She suddenly slashed for Kairi's throat with her longknife, attampting to slit her throat open. "My master would love to have you, you know. I might bring you back as a gift. If I don't kill you first." She said. Saivene raised her other hand and and it started to glow, before exploding forward in a cone, a short ranged average damage blast. She moved, slashing for Kairi's legs, aiming to cripple her like she had the other one. She even made a playful swipe for Kairi's face with her claws.

***

Bethany sat dazed on the floor, as Kairi told her to stay down. She'd done enough. "I'm not some weak milksop!" she replied weakly. Kairi turned and adressed Saivene, and they started to fight. Bethany stilled as Saivene started spouting nonesense at Kairi, nonsense she quickly realised was true. She watched Kairi's reaction, as Saivene started to attack her. Bethany growled.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Orgoth Fri Mar 15, 2019 6:30 pm

Bethany replied snappily about not being weak, but offered no further argument against Kairi's order to take a break. Saivene dealt with Kairi's attacks efficiently, and utilized an energy barrier to thwart her Wall of Swords. The Heanta then approached Kairi and psychological warfare commenced. She called Kairi a "Redfang Whore", to which Kairi simply raised an eyebrow. But the next comment caused Kairi to call upon all of her years of experience and patience, especially when her foe attempted to slit her throat with a cheap shot. Kairi ducked the slash, her jaw clenching and her eyes narrowing, but then her expression relaxed as she suddenly saw what approach she must take now.

"Thank you, Saivene." Kairi's face was all business now as she switched her weapon to spear mode. "You have made this considerably easier. It is clear that you do not deserve mercy, so you shall receive none." Saivene suddenly raised her hand and charged some sort of energy attack. Out of instinct, Kairi activated her Shield of Faith, surrounding her body in a glowing aura. Kairi was enveloped in the blast, but fortunately her shield ability prevented the damage from reaching her. The aura flickered and disappeared as the smoke cleared.

Suddenly Saivene was in front of Kairi, aiming to damage her leg in a similar way to what she had done to Bethany. Kairi blocked it with her spear handle, while she used the other end to deflect the slash at her face, though the second attack seemed to be more playful than anything. Kairi replied by suddenly swinging the butt of her spear upwards, attempting to chin Saivene. She then spun with the motion and crouched low, thrusting her spear tip towards the Heanta's gut. She then rolled left and swept her spear low and spun again to sweep high before backing off to create some room to maneuver.

~@~@~

Fayla scowled at Vala when she came out with her pun about Thassa's injury. "You beat me by one second-" She was cut off by Thassa's enraged swing, dive-rolling to the side as the blade swept over her. The big woman's blade
began to glow and Fayla had to desperately handspring backwards to avoid the blasts, though she still got caught by the last one and sent skidding across the deck. She rose to her feet gingerly and checked where Vala was. The Heanta was also rising to her feet, similarly in pain. The fight was lasting far too long already, and they wouldn't be able to keep this up forever.

Thassa gave them very little time to breath, however, and she was soon on their case again. She charged Fayla first, swinging horizontally and back again. Fayla ducked the first one and rolled to the side to avoid the return. Thassa's ability to halt her weapon's momentum was hampered slightly by her missing arm, even with her enhanced strength. Fayla used this to her advantage, sliding beneath her foe as she recovered from her attack and swinging at her knee. The blow was mostly mitigated by armor, but some damage was still inflicted. She slid through and was almost stomped flat when Thassa turned and used her Thunder Stomp, narrowly missing Fayla as she moved but inflicting Average lighting damage in a 10 ft radius around her boot, herself excluded. Fayla was caught by the jolt and was knocked backwards coming to a rest against the wall with residual electricity crackling over her body. Thassa then turned to Vala, eyes glowing maniacally. "COME ON! YOU STUPID HORNLESS CUNT!"

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Jun Mon Mar 18, 2019 5:05 pm

How unfortunate. His dragon's breath and his small lightning attack were his weapons against this guy's phasing misty shenanigans. That was great to know. But for now, it was all weapons play. His scythe got knocked away, and his sword blocked, then got pushed back, and had to go into a back-flip to avoid getting tripped up. That was getting really old.

Though getting kicked in the damn chest at just the right opportunity was also getting old! Rex stumbled backwards, and had to block with both his scythe and sword. Only to have to duck to avoid losing his head, though he did miss a few hairs. He darted forward, trying to cut off the man's leg and part of the other with the sword, and attempt to bisect him with the scythe, seeing as that was the position of both weapons.

After moving past Kane, he spun fast to take the head, then did an uppercut swing with the sword after darting just a little bit closer.

Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces - Page 2 Empty Re: Showdown at Yoniva: Part 1 - Moving the Pieces

Post by Zenke Tue Mar 19, 2019 11:03 pm

Vala was about to charge forward after Thassa's attack, when she slammed her foot and sent out a blast of lightning that sent Fayla flying. She screamed her challenge at Vala. Vala smiled and dashed forward, feinting to the towards thassa's good arm, hoping to bring out a wild swing, before dashing back and in from her undefended side. She activated her darkmoon claws and jumped, slashing for Thassa's face to deliver a powerful curruptive magical poison that would reduce her strength and Agility.

Hit or miss Vala needed to take advantage of her proximity to Thassa now, and began to dash and strike, throwing punches towards the joints of thassa's Legs and good arm, in the hopes of crushing the metal and restricting her movement farther.

***

Saivene smiled serenly as Kairi began to spout on about not granted her mercy. She defended herself well enough against Saivene's onslaught and began to fight back with a sudden uppercut of the butt of her spear. Saivene tipped back her head, barely avoiding it on purpose. With the mouthy one out of the fight, she'd regained her composure, and moved almost like a dancer, parrying Kairi's speartip away with her longknife as she drove it towards her gut. Kairi sweap low and she carwheeled over the strike and ducked under the highsweep.

"A commendable effort but if you think you can actually kill me you must be out of your mind. Killing a lowborn warrior heanta like Argesh isn't quite the same as taking on an elite." She chided with a smile. She stepped forward as dark energy began exuding from her form. "It's time to end this game." Saivene said as she suddenly dashed foreward.

***

Hand to her bloodsoaked face, Bethany reached out and took hold of Asi's handle. She needed to get up, to find the strength to fight. She could tell something about Saivene had changed. She was no longer angry, her movements were more precise. She must have been slowled by the injuries she'd recieved by Bethany's firebeam, and was now healed because Kairi wasn't able to connect with any of her attacks. She needed to get up.

***

Saivene dashed towards Kairi then diverted left, slashing at Kairi's side, she twirled and suddenly doubled back, a pool of darkness splitting off from her shadow. She moved to the right, drawing Kairi's eye as a dark copy of herself rose up from the pool and drove her longknife towards Kairi's back. A perfect pincer menouver.

***

Bethany seen Saivene's sudden eratic movement, and something began to move behind Kairi. Bethany lunged to her feet, but she'd never make it in time. Then she seen Kairi's shield, and dived for it, scooping it up and launching it towards the dark copy of Saivene's head. It exploded with with a scream and disipated. Bethany stepped forward, blood streaming down her face and sauntered forward all swagger and bravado. "I don't think two on one is very fair." She said to Saivene. "You don't learn do you, Asentari." Saivene snarled. "I guess I've have to carve out the other eye."

***

The asentari recovered from the kick pretty well and came in at Kane, trying to take off his legs. He was tapped out on his haze ability, so he blocked the Scythe with his pole axe and twisted his body to get his other leg out of the way, taking a grazing slash to it. He was forced to drop his pole axe and roll under the double slash. As Rex dashed past to take off his head he rolled again, taking another slash from the longsword across the arm, and caught the handle of his poleaxe. Kane rose and swung the weapon one handed from the ground trying to take Rex off guard. It wasn't the best swing, but short of the head connecting he might atleast manage to strike Rex in the gut with the shaft.

Eitherway he would quickly wheel the weapon in and get a proper grip, before striking downward at the ankle, pulled back and thrust the head towards his gut, and then quickly spun the weapon to strike him in the head with the rear side of the axeblade.
